Good for you man, invest and save and have even a better gig in the future!

Damn straight, over thirty years in factories wasn't the least bit glamorous but I learned to do a great deal of things and it paid the bills all those years.

Lots of folks my age started out sweeping the basement and worked to get upstairs to better jobs with the years.

Young folks seem to expect you walk in at 18 and get 50K, a desk, computer and a flexible schedule.

Just about any food item you purchase is processed in a factory. Factory workers as a demographic aren't very happy people  -- don't think for an instant that food factory workers are any happier -- or more conscientious...

Edit: Don't think of that, it will just spook you out.:D

Ive seen some nasty stuff or general lack of hygiene from coworkers...typically i was always "there" at right time when donuts arrived so i usually got first choice, had they been sitting there with one or two left i never touched them.

Not much of a story, just a mediocre fire department going too fast in a big truck. Far from their first incident.

And to add more weirdness to my week, now I get to go GPS the top of a footing that we're not going to demo because there's power that runs by there so we need to document where it is for future.

Better get the Trimble charging and refresh my brain on how to use it!

Yawl know the story of my fil sitting in the car listening to the game at Cole's party.

My mil called my wife this morning about something and it turned into her and my wife having a talk and my mil mad.

She told my wife we disrespect them, keep the kids from them, shouldn't discipline our kids the way we do, etc. My wife said you had your chance with your kids, don't tell me how to raise mine.

My wife called me laughing and mad. I told her to get them to tell me when I've EVER disrespected either of them. I also told her do not ask me to go to their lake house this summer and if they want to see their grandkids they know where we live. DONE with them :frusty:

That sounds more and more like our situation. I know my kids are older than yours but the one thing we did with our kids is just be honest with them and have let them make up their own minds on if they want to see them or not. For the last few years, they have not.

Pretty sure they haven't been invited to the graduation. They probably wouldn't come anyway since they didn't even go to my wife's graduation when she got her doctorate. For reference, no one else in the entire family even went to college, never mind getting their doctorate.
