Thanks man. That comforts me. I saw a little overspray on my front coil overs. I got in touch with the salesman that I used and he said that they apply a “Toyota supplied” undercoating to all of their new vehicles. I don’t know how crazy I am about that. Looks like they would offer it instead of doing it on their own. A little upset about that. You here all kind of horror stories about it, but who knows the truth. Is it something I should be concerned about, or glad that they did? Just want to get some of you guys opinions.

They probably charged you for that undercoating. I made sure they didn't undercoat my truck as part of the negotiation and then made sure again that they didn't undercoat it when the truck actually arrived.

I'm not sure what your dealer used because, I don't believe, there is a "Toyota supplied" undercoating. So I don't know if it's good or not.

I use Fluid Film myself.

 

Two schools of thought on this. Some people actually break their engines in hard. I wouldn't worry about it, even if you redlined it I doubt there would be any issues with it long term.

 

Yeah. I little ticked that they would do that. Never thought about crawling underneath a brand new vehicle. Oh well. I guess that it is too late to do anything about it now.

 

Said they use Wurth underbody sealant. Hope that it is good stuff.

 

I wondered who bought that off the lot! I pass by there headed to work almost daily and they've had it parked next the matching Lime 4Runner for a little bit. Wishing I had stopped in to see it before it sold.
