This is a really nice solution, I'm going to have to order these. I had thought about just drilling a hole between the latch and the bracket and using a small padlock, but this is much sharper looking. I'm not overly concerned with security, it's just nice to keep the honest man honest sometimes depending on where you are.

I am considering getting a custom composite molle panel made for the back wall of my 3rd gen V2 Camper. Would anyone else be interested in that? The source would be Grey Man Tactical but they require 5 or more to make an order. I am thinking composite because the rubber well nuts on the camper are not as strong as a rivnuts but also will allow for more flex in the assembly. Wanted to judge interest before I go ahead and spend the time to do the CAD and price them out. They would probably be cheaper the more people want them.

I really like this - the vending machine things are horrible. I am afraid they will accidentally lock and I'll be SOL. Hah.

I finally got things wired up the way I like. Heraco lights - they look nice but they were HORRIBLE to deal with - totally unresponsive. I had the folks at Santa Rosa Cartronics do the wiring. They do a very clean/pro job. But I wasn't happy with the little panel they made for the switches/USB power, so I 3D printed one that has a little recess so the switches don't get mashed by stuff in the bed. I may make a metal one, but this will have to do for our upcoming trip! Switches are: shell lights, tent power, voltage monitor shut off (I don't like things drawing power - even a little) and voltage monitor for main and house batteries.

When this guy makes more I want to know!

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I was looking to build something similar to keep for a dog barrier. Between the front and rear seats.

I looked at doing this and the GFC mounts will work, however AluCab recommends tying into the 90 degree at the rear of the camper, so I didn’t mount the awning. Hope this helps.

My buddy has a AluCab Canopy Camper with the Shadow Awning. That awning while awesome, is also heavy as all get up. It felt close to 150lbs just mounting it. I think is officially listed at 52lbs but when holding that thing solo so he could start the bolts. Not fun.

Question for people who have switched out a leaf set:

My dry weight for the back of my truck is 630lb.
I'm looking at Stage II vs Stage III Deavers U402.
I assume I'd need airbags for heavier loads if I go with Stage II but would the ride be better?

Fully loaded is probably around 850lbs.

    Recommendations between the two?

Go for the set that matches your fully loaded setup, you’d rather be driving a slightly stiff truck on the street than bottoming out while you are out trying to enjoy your setup

Im also in a similar boat.
My rear bumper is ~350 with my spare
    Gfc is ~275
    - that already puts me at 625 with nothing in the bed. I have a box of recovery tools, that's around 60, and then plus any camping gear, which might be 100-175.

Im most likely going to get the Deaver S3. Always trying to lighten the load in the back, but can only go so much lighter.. cant eliminate all of it

    Alcan springs.
You can call them tell them all your weights and what your actually doing with your truck and they will custom build you a set. Price is good and times are good also.
Look up @MR E30 truck. He has a set of Alcan springs. We just did the Mohave a trail and I rode with him. His truck handled like a dream.
Instead of guessing make a call. Get some numbers and have proper ones made.

^same. Just had a set of Alcans made for my third gen after getting my AT Summit installed. Made the drive from Prescott to Grand Junction to have them installed on-site.

In my situation I wanted ZERO lift, but 500# over stock capacity. I plan on having a very minimal set-up in the bed so 150# is all I need. Give Lew a call and he'll work with you!

Yeah thats what the people at TinyRigCo mentioned.. I guess no 270 shadow awning for me. Saved me a pretty penny anyways.

I think Im going to go for the black series aluminum ARB awning. Looks really good. I have 2 brackets from GFC already, but Im not sure if Id use an awning enough to warrant a $700 one. Maybe I can convince myself to get the room also.

take a look at the Kinsman (sp?) offering if you’re looking for a 270–he has made one for GFC application and a bracket system to support it—it’s more $$ than AluCab though, but also made in USA
