Shock relocation?

I am looking to upgrade my rear shocks to king 2.5 12'. I am wondering if I have to use the relocation kit to fit them or if I would be ok to do it without it.

I recommend bamf’s relocation kit.

 

The reason I recommend AG is the BAMF was designed with a 2.0 shock in mind. It's a super tight squeeze with a 2.5. Plus they're a bit longer than their 2.0 counterpart so you lose a little up travel. The AG holds the top of the shock higher up, which also allows the lower shock mount to be tucked up more. It also bolts to the bed at the top for added rigidity.


edit: I have the bamf relocate, it's fine. I just think the AG will be better suited to your needs.

Do you have the smoothie rear shocks?

 

I have 2.0x12" smoothies in a bamf relocate. That picture is my friends truck which is 2.5x14" smoothies in an AG relocate.

If I go for two of these will they fit with the BAMF relocate?

 

Kindanotreally. As I posted above, they're designed around a 2.0 shock.

 

Sorry for reviving this thread, but how low does the bottom shock mount hang under the axle with the 14”?

 

It’s comparable to stock lower shock mounts. 12” shocks put you about horizontal.
