glad you like them. I’ve been using the endorphin pros for a bit but I think I still like the kinvaras better for everyday use.

Do the endorphins hold up well mileage wise?
That's a really expensive shoe that I think wouldn't last the typical 500 miles a pair before you turned them in.

I've recently had to trash my entire shoe inventory because I developed a soleus strain that causes some plantar fasciitis. Any stability shoe was causing serious issues. Which is great because it means trail running strengthened my feet and ankles so much I don't need support. But need all new shoes. 100% neutral shoes with 5mm drop or less. Really like the Kinvaras. The Freedoms are probably next. I'm also turning into a Topo Athletic thumper. I like the large toe box shoes. The Phantoms are my new favorites.

I mainly use them for speed/track work but have done a few 4-5 mile runs in them. Holding up fine, not much of a heel to them to they kind of force you to run on your balls of your feel. Felt weird walking in them but running is good.

Anyone have a home gym? What’s a decent price to buy weights at? Are they $1/lb or less or what? Let’s say like 45lb plates.

I kinda feel like $1/lb was more pre-pandemic pricing or maybe used pricing if you can score it. Closer to $1.50-$2/lb depending on brand. Rogue I think is like $1.75/lb for standard iron plates. Bumper plates... yeah double.

I have found if you can get a weight set to start that's the best bang for your buck to start. Like a 7' bar plus your set of 5, 10, 25, 35, and 45's. Can get into a nice set for $300-$400 depending on what you want. Then you can start adding different bars and extra weights.

This is what I did. Plus was lucky to score a couple of things on Craigslist, like a curl bar and 60 lbs of plates for $50

yeah I’m for sure gonna buy everything used for now but would just like to get some basic stuff at home slowly. Didn’t know what prices are considered deals and steals these days.

I’ve been creeping on some plate sets and just keep checking prices once in awhile. Waiting for a decent sale. Shit is expensive now it sucks.

I feel like this isn't completely horrifying in price for a bumper plate and bar set
    https://shop.eleiko.com/en-us/equipment/liftingsets/hybridtraining/3065183-eleiko-xf-set-339-lb-men

I mean it's a tough amount of money to throw down, but it's a bumper plate set and it's not just one of each to start out with and you can customize the set a little if you wanted.

For those who know what the hell is the difference between weight lifting weights and powerlifting weights? o_O Or men vs, women. As far as I know this sport ain't golf, errybody lifts the same shit.

Weightlifting are going to be calibrated bumpers, powerlifting are going to be calibrated steel, both in kilos rather than pounds.
These look like non-calibrated training bumpers

Not at all. If you’re going to be setting state or higher records in either sport it may be worth training on identical equipment though.

I actually had to read up on it. Learned about how they make different plates. Didn’t know it was that complex holy crap.

Absolutely not. Even powerlifters don’t always train with them until it gets close to comp time.

I would just snag a boneyard bar from rogue and their echo bumper plates. Don’t get a cheap set from Dicks because those bars are atrocious.

    Stuff. Also things.
    This is great advice.

I’m not on the level that a lot of you guys are, but I do have a pretty decent home gym setup. I learned real quick to spend more on good bars and go way cheaper on plates. Weight is weight, and at this point the only new plates I’ve bought have been a nice set of four 55# Rogue Training bumpers. The four sets of iron 45s that I have are all CL finds and only one set of those is a decent set of York machined plates from a dude who didn’t know what he had.

But the difference between a shitty department store bar and my mid-grade Rogue bar is night and day. I love that thing and it’s not even a fancy bearing bar or anything.

12 hours till weigh in for comp. Have had only a couple drops of water today. Water cuts suck. That’s all.
