Hey guys. Has anyone had an issue with their factory LED headlight turn signal going out in one side. Not sure if in these LED headlights if the turn signal has its own board that runs it. Looks like these headlights are pretty much unserviceable too.

Who’s harness are you running? I’d start with that connection.
Hopefully it’s not the light itself, I’ve got a pair in the garage to install this week!

Im running @daveeasa harness. I did some trouble shooting and when I unplug the turn signal harness from the light the rear turn signal and mirror turn signal will work (fast blink). I dont think its the harness that dave supplied.

First led turn signal issue I’ve seen.

Hmmm, could be a bad light. Can Dave’s harnesses be switched from side to side? If so maybe give that a shot and see what happens?

So, you installed these Factory LED Headlights and run Dave's harness?

    Are the connections tightly secure?

That's one of the certainties that must be done prior to tucking/bending the cables into place after mounting the lights.

There’s a driver / passenger side specific harness?

They are marked as such but I wasn’t sure if they were interchangeable but I guess not.

    No, they are not interchangeable.

Make sure the correct side is used.

They are symmetric in terms of connectors. They labeling is for color matching with OEM wire colors.

@CenCal805 reported something which sounded similar.

I don’t get hyperflash with my headlight disconnected. At least not on my truck.

OP, do you have stock rear turn bulbs and stock mirror turn signals?

    Ahhh, come on Dave,

you're saying they are interchangeable! lol

Here, I stressed myself out thinking they had to be on the correct side.

However, when it came time to figure out the high/low bean connector, the green wire helped me determine where to connect.

They are labeled to prevent me from seeing mismatched colors. Because then I can’t sleep knowing that somewhere out there is a truck with driver turn OEM tan to conversion harness light blue. Oh the horror.

Here's what I'm talking about with the green connector: granted they are two different color greens...

Green innards is H11 so low beam. There is some nice green color symmetry with the Aptiv plugs as you point out. If you look at the Oem wire, though, you’ll see it’s solid red.

TLDR for people having problems, hit me with a DM and I will try to schedule time to review things with you via video call or something.

As far as troubleshooting, step 1 is disconnect and reconnect every connector paying extra attention to the audible click you should hear. Give a gentle pull test to ensure a solid connection.

step 2 is swap driver and passenger sides and observe. If the problem is on one side and follows the harness, let me know and I’ll send a replacement. If the problem stays on the same side then it’s likely something other than the harness.

I test every one but not with a truck ECU, only with a bench power supply and a rather generic flash module.

If you have your old halogen headlights and can connect them temporarily to confirm all is well, that helps some too.

The most likely curveballs are added resistors, extra resistance from aftermaket turn signal bulbs or aftermarket mirror turn signals or lower resistance from led turn signal bulbs or aftermarket mirror turn signals. So having all your stock stuff helps identify the root cause.

If you have access to a bench 12v power supply you can try to test the headlight out with that to confirm it works properly. But that can be a little tricky without a pigtail. Which I’d be willing to supply if someone is struggling with isolating the problem.

I can sympathize with the frustration of spending $1k+ and having to deal with problems. So I try to help when I am able to.
