My headlights are making a quick stop at no vtec for me’s house for that chrome delete! I got the non-pro’s leds, so it was a must for me. Big Fan of his work and Dave’s! Going to be putting in my harness order as soon as I get that shipping confirmation email!

Took 11 days for my order to ship. At this price (still expensive but best I’ve seen yet) I’m sure they’re busy and probably didn’t have the inventory on hand to fill all the orders. Link was posted on TW and the dealer was wtf… better order more headlights :smack:

Yeah I can only imagine the orders they'd now have to fill with inventory they probably didn't know they needed

Order was placed on the 17th, hopefully they'll fulfill and ship my order soon lol

Have you called to see what’s up? They’ve fully processed my credit card so I’d have to imagine they’ll ship soon.

I am in the $1350 or so group. I also made my own adapter since there was no harness avalible when I did mine.

No offense to anyone, but it's really not hard to make your own connectors.

I should add for guys with a warranty, the premade harness makes good sense. I had no such concerns when I did mine.

$1043. They will go to @no vtec 4me as soon as I get them for a little modification though. Luckily I know a guy that makes harnesses for the SR to use these :D

I can attest to Daves devotion to doing these with the highest standard. He is always looking for the best quality stuff, and will take care of any issues if something does go wrong. I know that he tests every harness he makes. I also know first hand what is involved with sourcing, crimping, testing, and shipping these. Dave knocks it out of the park on this stuff. I also understand the thought process on buying a set off of eBay for $30(!). And I am sure those will work. Where my concern would be is the headlight connection itself. Luckily the LEDs aren't really high current, but the long term issue that can creep up is on a terminal that doesn't seat really well is it can lead to arcing which causes pitting, which in turn makes the arcing worse. This adds resistance to the circuit, and you can eventually end up with a melted housing. Now, I am not trying to say this is what will happen with a cheaper harness, but I am saying that I know for a fact Dave does everything he possibly can to avoid that. I get the struggle to make the harnesses as cheap as possible, but there is also a lot of work that goes into some of these. Those are the little things that most people don't consider. Hell, I never did at first. But being around this stuff for so long and seeing what can go wrong makes you appreciate trying to do it right. I know I am biased, but I'd rather pay the extra for a product that I know the seller will stand behind. Plus, he includes those sweet zip ties!

I would be curious to see photos of what you did harness-wise to satisfy my curiosity. If you are willing to share.

Zip ties only come on the DIR. Headlight conversion harness is sans zip ties. Because I don’t want to add waste to the landfill and I’m not sure there is any good reason to zip up 7” of harness.

I didn't make a harness, I redid the connectors. Cut and crimped. That's why I said if one has warranty to worry about the harness is the way to go. Crimping and repining in the new connector isn't hard otherwise.

There are some pics of mine I believe posted in the headlight thread, but I don't seem to have any on my profile.

Ah, yes. Thanks. I’m definitely considering this route for my own truck because I don’t love the bulk of a conversion harness.

I pondered an intermediate MX-150 12 position so I could retain access to all the grounds and then convert 12 to 6 for the headlights but that seemed dumb.

What holds me back is not wanting a bunch of stray grounds left out in the cold. Assuming the sidemarker stays unmolested, I guess it’s just 4 and I could stuff them into some other connector with a cap.

I originally was going to do the something tidy with the grounds myself. Turns out there a crap load of them lol. I ended up clipping them and tying them off in a bundle in case I need them in the future. I capped and put them in some wire split channeling I used. It looks pretty much like the rest of the wiring in my truck.

The advantage to the harness is one can easily switch between lights if need be, but in my case I had broken my driverside light and was fully committed to the task of going OEM LED. For the connectors and I had to buy a pair of crimpers, I think my cost was like $35.
