    Youre comparing your experiences with a manual against the auto. They are two different beasts. The reason why I lock it in S5, and S4 in wind and hills, is that you can feel how unhappy the truck is otherwise. Every 10-30 seconds its changing the status of the torque converter and/or gear hunting. I don't care what anyone says, that much activity going on inside the transmission is way more wear/tear than just humming along at 65mph in S4.

    Yeah i'd have to agree. If the truck isn't happy with all the hunting, you need to try something else less evil. I've been lucky not having those issues like a buddy had with his on the same roads.....reminds me of my truck when i first picked it up from the dealer, and drove it 155 miles home. Made me wonder if i made a good choice buying this truck.
