Nice. And in YOUR handwriting... hmmm

It was always on the blackboard for me. And the kids today won't even know what a blackboard is.

Has somebody already mentioned the smell of fresh mimeograph hand-outs from the teacher yet? (Most likely, but I missed it.)
That was a calming scent that was almost looked forward to. Except when the print-out was a pop quiz!

Or the joy of getting picked by the teacher for eraser cleaning duty. You got to go outside and clap those things together and the come back inside all covered in chalk dust.

In my grammar school, the custodians had a shop vac that you'd use to clean out the erasers... So no returning to class like Bronson Pinchot at a traffic stop...

oooh rat traps, had them on my Mongoose Supergoose. Ended up going with the bear traps..though after one gnarly gash I took to just using them on race day

Never rode in flipflops..I hate them anyway and only own a pair now to go from house to pool and back. Plus it was a bitch trying to do tricks in anything but my Converse or Vans.

I never had pedals on a bicycle without rubber on them.

Then I bought a Schwinn Varsity at the swap meet and fixed it up. Damn those rat traps were a pain…

I have no idea how much a Schwinn varsity sold for new about 1970, but I bought this one for $12 in 1990, without a seat, but otherwise in working condition. It took five hours To disassemble & reassemble that bicycle all shiny and polished. I put some nicer controls and bars on it, plus a nice seat which my boss’s dog ate.

That was a nice bike when I gave it to my son-in-law and unfortunately he let it rust away. As far as I could tell he never rode it one time. Evidently having bicycles was my daughters idea and not his.

I have a nice pair of Birkenstocks that are integral with my summers.
With flipflops, anything more than a stroll is simply asking for trouble.

OK in the house, but not on the wooden deck after some rain. They hydroplane.
