    Just a couple
I picked up my new taco last Saturday. Salesman told me Tacos, Tundras and 4 runners are all going on a 90 day production because pause because they can’t get parts. He said what is in production will keep going, but no new orders. I said, what are you going to sell? He said we are going to focus on what’s left. I have no idea if it is true, but I can’t imagine he would have made it up. Large dealer in Albuquerque with a handful of new Toyotas on their lot.

I just did a google search and no news. I’ve been thinking about it a lot the last couple of days. If he is telling the truth, demand would never catch up, the value of your taco just went through the roof and Toyota stock should be taking a huge hit. Nothing written to clear it up, so I am thinking he Is wrong. If anyone else hears anything, please pass it on

I got a call last night from my dealership (Orleans, Ontario) telling me that my DC TRD Sport Army Green has been cancelled. I ordered December 4, and was told a few weeks ago that it was expected April 30 - May 10. They have a TRD Sport in Metallic Grey coming for the same timeframe and my name is now on it. I wanted the army green, and really didnt care for the Premium features other than Army Green, so the bright side is no leather and I save $2500. The downside is no army green.

For what it's worth, I have a friend who works in robotics and is currently working out of the Tacoma factory in Mexico and it sounds like they're doing as much production as they can given the current chip shortage. They're not allowed to send photos or anything, so I don't know much more than that.

This is concerning to me. I order my sport in early Dec and the planned delivery is the same as yours. I was in the dealership today and had them check if there has been any changes.. they said it's the same but no vin yet. They didn't seem concerned.

Ya, not easy but it’s possible no green 2022s will be made, and no guarantee the colour will exist in 2023.

I can change my mind up to delivery, so if things change I can re-order, but I don’t have much hope.

I’m up in Canada. My dealer got in allocation for a 6MT Pro. I put a deposit down on it right away. 3 weeks later the allocation got pulled from them and the truck was replaced by a Lunar Rock Trail.

The sales Mgr showed me the email from Toyota Canada so I know it’s not just some sales BS. It got cancelled because they can’t build a truck right now the blind spot monitoring. It seems all the recent allocations with the tech pkg were getting replaced with lower trim pkgs.

So I don’t think production is stopping completely, it’s just shifting. That being said what is weird is some of their orders were resubmitted and accepted weeks later. My guess is maybe Toyota didn’t have the parts/chips to build the trucks when they were scheduled and they are not going to shut down the lines so they shifted to build the trucks they have parts for?

Another dealer told me that they are building higher trim pkgs without the blind spot but everything else.

Unfortunately no one really is being told at the dealer level other then it’s not being built. I found though that the dealers are still happy to take a deposit on a new order. I suspect it’s just a cash flow thing for them.

This happened to my daughter's 4Runner. A girl hit her on January 31st and the insurance company totaled it. She had just paid it off 6 months ago.... They checked all the dealerships in the Nashville area and of course found nothing. A friend who knew a salesman got her on the list for a new one. It came in two weeks ago. They felt very lucky.

Not sure buy my NJ dealer has 37 Tacomas in stock so might just be a regional thing where yours can't get inventory for a little bit. Should come around again.

Have a few deposits out for a 2022 TRD OR MT so this is concerning. Does anyone have any thought as to whether the 2023 will be the new generation? If it is I will be pulling all deposits.
