So I bought the below "stove" for making coffee/tea/boil water on the trail and am unsure what fuel and or cannister of fuel to buy. It says butane sure but I have heard some say you can use propane also.. and also there are different kinds of butane cannisters... is there a better place than Amazon to get them?

    Many thanks!

Reviews say it needs an adapter to convert to propane, but otherwise runs well. Can get butane at any sporting goods store and some hardware places.

Found a bunch of mushrooms and glowsticks wrapped in yarn hanging from trees. I imagine the last people to occupy that campsite had an interesting night.

Walmart had some butane propane mix that fit right on perfectly.. about 6 bucks. A little cheaper than what I saw on the 'zon. Going camping in a couple weeks itll be great to have this for no burn zones and morning coffee. Though I typically have a mini wood stove and scavage for mini twigs and dead fall...

fuel choice really comes down to what type of weather are you going to be camping in. colder temps and the fuel is more dense, doesn't burn as long. soem fuels fare better than others. another downside to a stove like that that screws onto the top of the canister is that you can't roll the canister on its side to get every last drop out of it. also, switching from one fuel type to another requires you to clean out the stove.

good article that explains it all

I have found some things out here in the desert! I just found this thread, however, so I will have to bring my "show and tell" photos out soon. One to get started, you never know who you will run into out here.
