I have a ‘22 Pro that came with a smeared residue of some kind on the inside of the plexiglass over the speedometer and tachometer. Has anyone else seen this on their ‘22?

The dealer said the plexiglass is now a sealed unit with the speedometer and tachometer and the entire unit needs to be replaced. You can no longer just replace the plexiglass. I’m now waiting for a new speedo unit from the factory, ugh….

Are they keeping your truck until the speedo arrives? I heard when there’s issues with the speedometer they need to program the mileage correctly so they keep the truck at the dealer so the mileage stays the same.

I'm not sure this is correct. Looking at the parts diagrams, it still shows a separate part for all the models in 21 and 22. This site doesn't show a Sport or Pro in 22 but show the lens separate nonetheless.

Anytime I hear “the dealer said…” I have all sorts of red flags go up.

I can’t imagine them changing that. Sounds like dealer smut imo.

Either you misunderstood them, or you need to find another dealer.

yes, the plastic lens for the dash cluster must be made out of 1960s cellophane.

don't even think about trying to wipe of the dust.

I’ve had good luck polishing the plastic if required (specifically on older cars when it’s not available anymore), but yeah, it gets scuffed up very easily.

Wish they would use something like the polycarbonate on the headlights.

Screen protec is worth its weight in gold. Get the kit with the stereo and prndl protectors as well.

also, thanks for all the good info you always have.

Shame you couldn't put the screen Protec on while it was out. Much easier.

Did you buy the protec branded one or generic one? My fit wasn’t “perfect “ but it’s was pretty close, and way better than having to live with a dirty cluster because I’m too afraid to scratch it haha.

Screen'Protech gives you an option to buy a second set at a better price because we are human and make mistakes.
Mine went on easily and is not centered which you cannot see unless you are really looking.
