    I would think your house bank of batteries is separated from the starting battery at that point since you have not started the engine yet. Do you know which bank of batteries you are monitoring? Also, do you know which bank the glow plugs are sourcing for power?

    Did it actually make you wait to start? If the light didn't even come on then they likely didn't run

    House and truck battery are separate. Dummy light on the dash is what I'm looking at. Glow plugs are isolated to the truck battery.
    Light comes on, just not seeing the voltage drop I have seen when bros do those YouTube cold start videos.

    Can always stick an amp probe on the feed line, not uncommon to have a couple go dead over time, but usually one or two still work

    That sounds a bit better than 2700 RPM lol. Then that rig definitely has 3.73 or 3.55. I'm thinkin 3.73 but maybe not. You should see a voltage drop ~11V is what my CTS3 will read. Once the glow plugs are off which is a max of about 2 minutes, you should see it jump up to high 13V-low 14V. That's another reason to invest in a monitoring system like the CTS3. So its not normal for it to not show a fluctuation, but I don't trust the factory gauges. My factory trans temp didn't move until my trans temp was 220-230... That's awesome that it did fire up great. When the glow plugs on these trucks go bad, you'll be hard pressed to start that truck below 45 degrees. The wait to start in these is 100% a dummy light similar to the gauges. No need to "cycle" the glow plugs like its been rumored. I have a small orange led ran into the cab of my truck that's connected to the glow plug side of the relay. That light will stay on around 2 minutes before it shuts off finally on real cold days. Helps me to verify the relay is working as well. I think I had advised to replace the current with a Whiting-Rogers Relay as the OEM are pretty insufficient and was/is an issue on 7.3's.

    It's been listed as 3.5 gears so 3.55 makes sense. I'll do more research on the cts3. Seems like a worthwhile investment. I think the batteries are strong and that's why the dash doesn't show a voltage drop like the older trucks. The plug cycling is left over from the old IDI trucks. Just let it run for a minute or two on the plugs then giver hell. I think too many folks crank as soon as the light shuts off and expect it to start right away. For now, it seems all is well. I'll get a spare relay and CPS here soon just in case though.
    Can't wait to see it in person!

    It's a great platform to begin with, I loved my Corolla hatch. And let's not forget to step back and look at Toyotas sports car line up.... Supra, GR86, GR Corolla! They have one of the best out there right now.

    Like the idea on paper, but yeah buying a new FWD platform car is a no-no, it will not hold my interest.

    Yeah but transverse engine layout for packaging. Just not my cup of tea, cool car, wouldn't want one. Falls in the same category as a GTI or Veloster to me.

    I'd think about it for sure for a new DD for myself. But it'll cost too much I'm sure to justify that.

    That doesn't scare me or worry me at all. Tons of hot hatches setup like that that is also own.
