It would turn but was almost in a limp mode. It would start and run but not drive normal. Then the condition deteriorated and the engine wouldn't fire. I guess that's what my concern was, if i say "Yes, I'm authorizing up-to $760" what stops them from finding it in 20 mins and still charging me.

This is something else I wasn't sure about. If it's split in one spot (and I find it) could I just cut out the bad section and connect a new wire instead of paying 3k for a new wiring harness?

Yes. It's how fast mechanics make money. From what you've said I have concerns. But having worked in the biz for a while I always do. Theresa gets pissed because I never trust any shop we use.

So take what I'm saying for what it's worth.

Yes. The fuel pump pig tail is a very simple two wire connector. You could even hard wire your fuel pump to see if there is an issue with the harness.

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
The damage occured where the carrier bearing support brackets tie into the frame. The wiring harness runs right over that.

The below picture is the preventative measures I've taken. Havent had an issue since

Anyone have suggestions on a reputable place to have CV axles replaced? I’ve looked at a few and have seen a place in Arlington with great reviews, but it’s a hike from me, but it’s called Brother’s Garage. I just want a trustworthy place that will pay close attention to detail when doing the job is all

This would be a good place for JT to start looking for damage.

I'll again recommend Convenience Car Care in Manassas. Not the cheapest, but I like the owner because he really tried to make the customer happy. His other advisors there are cool too. Honestly I haven't had a ton of stuff done there because I do the majority of my own work, but for what I have had done I've been happy with.

I saw some pictures from wind rock and it definitely looks like a good time!

Probably a better time when it’s less crowded

I've heard it is pretty gnarly but I am excited to really test everything! It is also a massive park...

Much appreciated guys. I’ve done most everything to my rig, but I’m in a position where my apartment complex doesn’t allow us to do work on our vehicles, otherwise I’d be trying to knock it out right in the parking lot. I’m not thrilled to have to pay someone to do it either
