My guess is ray urine. A taste test will confirm.

When I looked underneath, I didn’t have a phone or camera close. The frame above where the cv axle comes out is wet and there was a drip forming on the back portion of the lower control arm. The cv boot is all intact. I really didn’t look into it much more as it is MN and windy and chilly. I’m not overly concerned as the fluid levels all looked good. Plus it’s warrantied.

You might become more concerned if it's the timing cover leak. Based on the length of time it will take to repair reported around here.

While warrantied, if that's what it is, it's a good time to ask (nicely) for a Toyota (not aftermarket) extended warranty, by indicating your disappointment / loss of confidence in the vehicle.

Keeping my fingers crossed it’s not that. Sadly it looks like oil that is leaking. But I’ll find out more tomorrow when I bring it to the dealer.

I’m sure they will have it all taken care of tomorrow, or I’m sure hoping! Yeah I got lucky. I went in the end of September 2021 and got the truck November mid month. Love my Taco so far. Hopefully this is just a little set back and be good to go for a long time.

I had a buddy in the Marines who would taste test leaks under his truck. We may or may not have peed under it from time to time

Make sure you use a clean spoon otherwise you taint the flavor.

Please let us know what it is. I had a 1995 T100 that was dripping below the transmission. They pulled it out and decided it was only cosmoline applied at the factory. Looked like tranny fluid though.

Might be a little thing, like tightening one or two bolts around a seal somewhere, or might be a big thing. It's not unheard of during the break-in period for a new vehicle for little things to loosen up & bed in. Have the dealer look at it.

A month ago I came home to a pint of oily substance around the center rear of my 2014 Taco w/65K miles on it, freaked out a bit, lots of fluid dripping out of the lower third of the rear diff. Ragged it up & re-torqued all the diff housing bolts (with a proper torque wrench.) Found one or two that were nearly finger-loose.

Then pulled the fill plug & topped off with about a pint of fresh 75W90 GL5 gear oil.

Since doing the tightening, the leak went away & hasn't come back since.

Love the color and hate to hear about your issue. Keep us posted on what you find out as I'm starting to believe the quality isn't what it used to be. I'd love to upgrade to one of the last 3 pedal tacos but am concerned that it won't be as reliable as my current truck. Best of luck and get that truck ceramic coated!
