How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Give it another 6 months and tacos will be sitting on the lots with gas as high as it is

 

This approach is basically just wishing. The dealer is just hoping they get allocated something you'll accept. You need to broaden your net. Call dealers in a 2 hours radius, ask 1. Are you all charging markup? If no, then ask: This is what I'm looking for. Do you have anything allocated that matches the bill? If they truly have it allocated, they should be able to send the spec sheet with the temporary vin. I'd want to see that plus a pricing agreement before putting any deposit down.

I even did this via 'Contact Us' forms on websites. By the time I was writing the third on my list, the second had sent me a spec sheet of exactly what I wanted - AG DCLB OR, Premium W/ Tech Package. Meanwhile my local dealer had told me to epect a 6-7 month wait just for allocation if I really wanted that color.

 

Lol, I'm finally driving 1.5 hours out of my way to a dealer that doesn't have any crazy fees/add-ons and does msrp to drop off a deposit on a Tacoma to order/get in line for allocation. I've made a order in with ford for a ranger tremor 1.5 months ago. Only have a confirmation email from them, no progress. But gone back and forth and now decided to load both barrels and see what happens.

I was hoping that my first post would be to show off my new Tacoma, but it appears mine has also been affected by delays. My original arrival date at my dealer was supposed to be today 3/30 and then was informed last Friday that it was delayed about a week. I was then notified this morning that it is delayed 30 days at the "Port", which is where it is now according to them. They also mentioned that there are 800 other Tacomas stuck at the Southeast USA port with mine. They will not give me any other information. I have been trying to get the Vspec site to work but keep getting "Nothing to Preview". Could someone run it for me? Vin: 3tmcz5an8nm492307

That VIN isn't showing on my Vspec either. Sorry to hear this! Contact your dealer have them screen shot the information that they have. It may give you some peace of mind to see what they are seeing.

 

Well damn, I'm wondering if mine is stuck there too. (3-9 build) Still no fuel or mileage. I was going to sell my current ride on Monday because the truck has an eta on 4/7.
Makes me wonder if I should wait now...
Possible the delays are for port added accessories?

 

This seems fishy. The dealer pulled it from their site and the VSPEC is not working? I don't want to jump to conclusions but I'd be seeking reassurance they didn't sell it out from under you - in the form of a screenshot showing VIN and shipment status.

It was on their site in early February until I put in my deposit then they removed it. Is that not typical?

I guess everyone’s different mine didn’t show until a week before my eta was filled. It’s there now on the site to be delivered next week. Never saw it on the site until about 6 weeks after build date not when allocation list showed.

 

Beautiful truck! I drove by a parked Lunar Rock Trail yesterday and I almost broke my neck staring at it. Kinda wished I waited for a Lunar Rock OR but am very happy with putting my name on the MGM Pro that fell into my lap. Lunar Rock is by far the best color in the lineup this year, in my opinion.

Truck was built 3/25 as originally scheduled. Vspec website gives me an eta of 4/14 to 4/19, but the dealer is telling me 4/19 to 4/25. Hopefully they are just setting my expectations low and it'll arrive sooner!

Who's traveled the furthest to find their truck? I'm in CA and am picking up my truck in CO (~1100 mile trip back home). I probably emailed close to 100 dealerships for MSRP on a white 6MT Pro and this dealer was able to get my exact build the soonest with zero add-ons.

 

Looks like you’re not far off! Super jealous. My app hasn’t updated in weeks and still no ETA, so I can only hope when my ETA shows up it’s that quick. What state are you in?

 

There's an EL Pro automatic at Camelback Toyota here in PHX if interested. Starts at 20k over msrp plus ADDs.

 

JFC.. and there are people who will probably pay that price.

 

Just got off the phone with the dealer and the ETA for my 2022 OR Lunar Rock is scheduled for delivery the last week of April. Spec sheet hasnt been updated yet. So close but sooooo far.....
