Just picked up some FJ TRD wheels for my tacoma and they came with special looking lugnuts. Im assuming that they have to be used with this type of rim. Im planning on getting the rims powder coated black and am wondering what I should do about getting some black lugnuts to go with the rims. Im not sure if the 2011 fj TRD trail special edition rims ( they are black) come with black lugnuts as well and if they do, im sure Toyota wants an arm anda leg for them so Im not real sure what to do. I cant powdercoat the chrome ones I have because the correct socket wouldnt ever fit on them. Anybody got some ideas?

I just put the black wheels on and couldn't find any black lug nuts in the style needed, just used the chrome ones. Maybe you could use some black circle stickers to go over the ends.

I bought black lugs for my Konig Countersteer Off Roads from jlbmotorsports.com where I got the wheels.

I did a search I guess my question really is do I have to use that type of special lugnut for these rims? I know that the 09 TRD tacoma wheels I have on it now had a weird vibration to them and after I changed from gorilla acorn lugnuts to the correct oem lugnuts the vibe was gone. Im thinking these FJ TRD wheels are the same way

Ummm I'm not sure about the FJ rims. I know I had to go with tuner lug nuts for my aftermarket wheels.

Not suppose to use acorn nuts on the FJ Style wheel.

didn't read whole thread so this may be a repeat but you can find the factory type lug-nuts in black on ebay-not sure those are the type the fj's use or you can contact earnhardttoyota.com they sell replica trail teams and the black lugs...or do what i did when i did my factory alloys black and spray the lugs with self etcher then bedliner mine a re holding up through 1 mount and balance and 1 5k rotation so far

earnhard wants like $7 a lugnut. I found a set on ebay i may end up getting that are the same specs as the gorilla ones but way cheaper. those gorilla ones would run me around $115 plus shipping which is kinda pricy for lug nuts
