    Shoulder is healing nicely. I have nearly 100% full range of motion and about 75% strength. P/T is stupid. I do so much more around here than they are telling me I'm allowed to do.

    Oddly, I was touching up the paint on a very tiny garden figurine and after an hour I was in pain.

    Added some new protection this afternoon with the boy… put on a set of N-Fab RKR rails. Very happy with them. They mount like traditional steps or running boards to the cab, not the frame. Look like sliders, and the steps are removable… two 17mm bolts per step. Obviously, they won’t have the impact protection of frame mounted sliders… but I don’t plan on dropping off ledges yet in a $50k truck. Plus, the wife loves them as they help her in and out easier… brownie points for me :bananadance:

    Ankle, thanks for asking. It's still a bit sore but getting better. Everything else is sore now from not wearing the steel toe boots for 9 months. I've gotten soft!

    Thanks. I didn't want the job, so I am fighting that mentally. At least there's some money coming in now but I have no desire to do this type of work anymore. I need to get back to doing what I was doing at that salary rate (or better).

    Will they let you wear a composite toe shoe instead of steel? They are more forgiving, and you can get them in some pretty good looking styles and even sneakers.

    On another note, get out as soon as you can. Don't waste time doing something you don't like. I've been where I'm at for nearly 30 years. But before that I had like 15 different types of jobs since I was in high school (graduated in 80'). Now that we finally have dogs our life is so much more enriched. I swear if I could survive financially, I'd switch in a heartbeat to do nothing but work with dogs! I want to be hands on though, not a behind the scenes kinda job. I wouldn't even care if it was cleaning shit out of kennels.

    I know it's easier said than done. Trust me, I have been unemployed before. Twice. One time for nearly 6 months. Using food stamps to buy generic hot dogs will make you consider some pretty stupid stuff. Fortunately I had the love and support from the women I ultimately married or...........that was a lifetime ago.

    Bottom line, if you give it your best at the job, you can hold your head high.
