Good idea. You are ignored. Consider that an honor. You're the first person I've ever used it on. lol

Interestingly enough, when you ignore someone the forum software removes the quote from that someone. lol

I've never even thought of ignoring anyone on this forum much less anyone in this thread. I still believe you can not agree with someone but listen to them at least. It's a dying trait in the Insta days.

I zoomed way out on the daily BBIG chart. Noticed something interesting. Starting from 8/19 to present there have been 3 big runs. Each one has been higher then the last. Each time it has formed descending triangle. When you look at the big picture you see the BBIG is actually in a GIANT ascending triangle. Next stop should be $16 on 4/14. It won't happen but whenver it does move up is should top well past the ATH of $12.50.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I'm more confused as to why you would think a 2 year old post in the stock and investment subforum would be relevant to your Tacoma.

So here's a little stonkversation to ponder:

The FedGov is clearly intent on flogging the dollar to death to pay out nominal entitlements that are owed - they'll keep their promise to eligible beneficiaries in letter if not in spirit. They're gonna print the dollars and write the checks even if they don't buy much. Cash is trash, meaning income is also largely trash. Do your best to get the majority of your money from not-working.

Along with that, recent stonk returns suggest returns over the next decade are likely to be more modest, with some risk of them being at or below inflation levels. We have very much outrun the historical average return over the past decade. The SP500 has done 14% annually, average, while the historical nominal annual average was around 10%. While some of this is no doubt due to LIRP/ZIRP, mathematically a reversion to the mean should be expected at some point.

Bonds are going to be a guaranteed money loser in a rising rate environment unless inflation tames significantly over the next few years. If you have a short time horizon they may make sense if you just want to protect $5 million from age 80 to death.

    So...

Where do you put your money to garner real return?

I personally think we're about to see a *really* good decade for real estate and a *really* bad decade for anyone not already owning some. I think the stock market beats inflation by a couple points annually, on average, in real returns but nothing like this decade we just had.

    Converse!

I thought we were all just waiting on a moon shot so we don’t need to bother worrying about all that nonsense :notsure:

We are. And we're gonna die waiting for that moonshot, which means plan for retirement.

In that case, I’m ok treading water for a few years. I’ll stay diversified and see how it shakes out.

I'm pretty sure anything we make will be taxed until we die.
    The rest is a crapshoot.
