In the last two months I’ve been trying to discover mods the previous owner made to my Taco. Recently, since reading the anti chrome posts, I’ve been wondering if the tail lights are stock on my TRD OR 4x4. Thoughts?

Stock pre 2020. My 2020 had a bunch of chrome in there. I traded for someone with lights similar to yours.

That color was stock for 2018.

Different years have different colors. Chrome, red like above, or black. The 2016's had the chrome tails for example. :puke:

Edit: I went back and looked. 2016 TRDs had the solid reds, compared to the smoky reds here. :anonymous::anonymous:

I wish the headlights followed suit in 2018. Odd that Toyota went away from this style after 2018.

What year is the truck? My 2021 TRD came with the "upgraded" tails with clear lenses and chrome inserts. I changed them to ones like the OP's, which are standard on 2021 SR5s, as well as previous years' TRDs. I believe these look much nicer than the clear/chrome ones, but that's just my personal taste.

    Mine is a 2018.

I kept seeing those "upgraded" chrome tail lights on everyone else's TRD photos and that is what made me wonder about the ones one my truck. Especially since the 2018 headlights have the same "upgraded" chrome trim as the later model tail lights.

I really appreciate the replies y'all.
