    I could actually see the 6th gen 4runner being even more off-road oriented. They have no reason to make it more of a soccer mom vehicle because they have the Highlander for that crowd. And, they have more competition due to the Bronco.

    Like @Shellshock said about the next Tacoma, I think the new 4Runner could be totally awesome, or a huge disappointment. It's going to depend on what the bean counters decide will put more money in their pockets.

    4 cylinder turbo or hybrid are the rumors. I don't think the fake Atkinson motor will be around at all in a few years.

    A 4Runner with a removable top would be absolutely incredible!

    I completely agree with you that they don't need another soccer Mom mobile but it seems like things trend in that direction unfortunately.

    I would agree, but the 5th gen actually went the other direction from the 4th gen. Hopefully the trend continues.

    Sounds to me like you haven't driven a 17 or newer taco. The manuals are excellent, and the autos don't hunt the way people on the internet complain about. The 16s were hit or miss for sure, but the software updates were included beyond that.

    99.99999% of the guys complaining about Taco shifting... Are trying to drive it like a Camaro.

    My OR DCSB is an auto (shocker) And I actually kind of like it. Sure it doesn't downshift nearly as aggressively as I like it too, but I'm still driving with a stock tune as well...

    Maybe it will be a kick-ass AWD turbo Corolla, and @Larry Dangerfield can buy one only to trade it in after a year.

    The last one I drove before I swore off buying a third gen was an 18 auto TRD off-road. The lack of low end torque was a complete deal breaker. I have an extreme lead foot and every time I floored it there was nothing but sadness, and thinking of what could of been.
