This is really more of a European-market GM product than a true European car in my opinion, but also in my opinion it is very unique because they were never actually sold in North America and this is quite possibly the only one in Pennsylvania! It is a 1994 Opel Astra 2.0i, and it is the first and only one I've ever seen in person; I have heard of this model before, but I didn't know they made one that sort of resembles a Volkswagen Cabrio. It has an automatic transmission (which is very un-Europe-like in my opinion), and if it didn't obviously have "Opel" emblems on it, it could easily pass for a Chevy or a Pontiac to somebody who didn't know what it was; Hell, you could probably pass it off a Cavalier if you put those emblems on it! The fact that is LHD would indicate that it likely came from Germany (It obviously did not come from the UK or Ireland); France is also possible, but I'm thinking Germany. If you look at the second to last picture in this post, you will see a yellow sticker on the trunk lid that says "Opel Yanase"; I looked it up, and it is chain of dealerships in Japan. LHD vehicles are legal in Japan, even though it is an RHD country, but I think this car was sold new somewhere in Europe before ending up in Japan...

That is a VERY nice look car.
Love the color. Wheels match it perfectly.

In my opinion, just over ten grand is a small price to pay for a vehicle that will likely get more attention at a cars and coffee than a brand new Lamborghini...

    EB1_3167.jpg

One of my concerns would be finding parts; I'm sure parts are readily available in Europe and Asia, but unless this car shares parts like brakes with US-market GM cars (Like a Mitsubishi Delica shares parts with the Montero), even routine maintenance could be a pain in the ass!

The interior fit and finish is certainly on par with US-market GM cars of the same era! :D

    Never seen one buddy.
But I did find a RHD 300ZX TT.
The problem is, it was an imported build.
It still needs work. Worst part is that it’s an Automatic.

I am not interested, I just happens to see it for sale near me.

My mom has a 1995 300ZX 5/Spd she is thinking about selling. She asked me to help her put a price on it. I honestly have no idea what it’s worth.

I knew that the green convertible above was an Opel of some sort without reading the window sticker, but there were two of these on the lot at Selden Motors when I was there a little over a week ago; Both of them are Fiat Barchettas, and the red one is a 1996...

These cars look a lot more expensive than the red one was actually listed for; Like with the green 1994 Opel, the one thing I'd be worried about with buying either of these Fiats is finding normal wear parts like brakes in North America. Fiat came back to the USA in 2012, so maybe they'd service this thing...? :notsure:

Probably not as reliable or cheap to maintain as a Miata; I can drive a stick though. I'm tempted to go back and see about test driving one! I don't think I'd buy one though, because I can't fit in a Lotus Elise, and these Fiats look smaller!

Buy a Miata. A guy I used to fish with a lot has one. Last I seen I think it had 300k on it. He won’t sell it for nothing.

Best one I seen was a Miata that neighbor has, It has a Ford 331 stroker engine in it. Never ridden in it. Just walk over to admire it. You know when he has it out. It’s really loud. Lol

Saturn started out as a good idea but as usual GM screwed it all up.

Gotta understand how much fun those cars are to drive. I’ve driven faster but nothing more fun. It’s like a fast ass go cart with radio and a/c
