Isn’t it kinda weird how the new tires are the old tires with decoration?

Now, I am no hater on the OEM Goodyear Wrangler ‘Adventure’ tires. They are better tires than most given them credit for, and clearly Toyota is very dedicated to these tires as they have been unwavering in offering them on the TRD Offroads and TRD Pro.

I just find it amusing that the new Wrangler “Territory AT” tires for the 2022 Pro and Trail Tacomas, are essentially the identical tire again, but with some tread stamped on the sidewall, where it would almost never supply traction. The key traction area is right at the corner of the tread, and that is where you see most off-road tires have the most aggressive tread. These “new” tires are just the old tires with decoration.

Anyways…….Toyota remains committed to these same Wranglers, but has given in to public opinion, and asked Goodyear to add some decoration to make them more bro.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Looks can make or break a tire, sad thing is most folks buying truck tires are just trying to look the part. As far as I'm concerned, if it's not an MT, you don't need "sidewall tread" you've already determined that you don't need aggressive tread so what does sidewall design get you.

They're for looks only. Lot of people buy tires based on looks, I've had to pull 3 different tires for customers so they can look at them they never pick the better ugly tire

It seems to be. That’s really the Toyota way.

Low profile Maxxis Trepadors on this taco. When you want big sidewall lugs for mud AND street performance. Best of both worlds!
