A little bit of this, and a little bit of that.
It ended up going out to an old abandoned mine way out in the middle of nowhere. My phone died, and I didn't have my charger in my truck (I totally forgot about my wireless charger) so I didn't get any photos of the mine.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Not so fast. The underbrush and scrub brush comes back fast, but where I fish most often the trees are douglas fir, and lodgepole and ponderosa pine. They can live from 200 to 400 years and get up to 100 to 150 foot height.

When replanted, they grow at about 1.5 (average) foot per year. So 10 years after replanting due to fire or logging, they will be 15 foot tall instead of the over 100 foot trees that are there now.

Seven months after the fires, the trails and logging roads to some of those lakes are still closed due to fire damage, and then big mudslides as the fires removed the slope stability. Some other areas will be closed to try and give the moose, deer, bear, cougar etc a chance to recover as many are killed in wild fires.

Here is one of the roads, and it is typical of the type of roads in these areas. So I expect I will need to hike in to get to some areas now. That is ok, it will help keep the weekend road warriors away. :)

Interior BC is 40-60 years to harvest. As noted further up, much of the areas of BC to burn the past several years have been devastated by endemic pine beetle. The standing dead trees from that has made much of our traditional early stage mineral exploration work precarious as some place are simply too dangerous enter.

This is from an area in the Cariboo. Most of the standing trees are rotted out less than a foot above the ground and are only waiting for a wind storm before they fall. We tried to brush out walking trails for geophysics, however it was far too dangerous with all the standing dead trees. Caulk boots, walking over the deadfall, stop for a moment and lean on a standing tree only to have it fall over along with the 4 or 5 leaners it was holding up. Time to get the hell out of Dodge.

Yep same in Colorado. So much deadfall and standing timber due to beetle kill. I didn't realize the beetle kill went all the way up to BC!!

You are going to love it! The difference is like night and day.... no more "Wallowing" and bouncing over uneven roads.

We had it in Belize in the late 1990's as well. It is all through interior and northern BC.

The Creek Fire here in Central CA devastated the forest I grew up in. The fire came about 7 years after the onset of the bark beetle explosion. Tragic mismanagement....IF the Forest Service does any replanting at scale, it will be my children's grandchildren who see a forest. Definitely not me.

Nice color. I have the same truck and color 2017 model. Do you still have it, and still take it out?
