Been a busy couple of days doing spring yard work.

For those of you in the South and East, watch out for the storms the NWS are forecasting. The squall line moved through our area about 1:00 this morning, it was bad. We had 2 tornados touch down in the county, I’m good but there is damage in the areas where they were.

When my hair fell out after chemo and radiation I was devastated. Bald is not a good look for me at all.

I've noticed a few departments around these parts changing the colors of the trucks to black and red, any reason? I think they look great.

Which one? The fire in Sevier County is about 2 hours (100 miles) west of us. The fire on Buffalo Mountain is about 30 minutes (25 miles) to the south. Then there are two in Virginia less than an hour away.

They evacuated Gatlinburg quicker this time, the videos from the last one were scary. I seen some images from the one in Dickinson County, VA this morning and it was getting close to homes, but none had been destroyed yet.

 

I saw the one in Sevier county on the bing earlier, didn't know about the others. Stay safe!!!

 

While they make look great, the black is a PITA to keep clean. We have hard water at our station so every single water spot shows. We are going the reverse and going with white on the top instead of the black. There's no reason to my knowledge other that to look cool. Plus the white helps hide the water spots in our case. I'd not want black on a fire truck in the summer heat either. A couple of local departments have black gear and to me that's just dumb. You're harder to see at night, you burn up in the summer heat and humidity and most importantly you can't see when your gear is dirty.

 

I keep biting my tongue but I can't feel it. Not a fan.
