    Someone is riding dirty.
In all seriousness, did you get too close to the edge of a road with mud on the sides?

Puddles & debris from sweepers generally occur along the curb or downward slope of the road leading to the catch basins. Which are on the right side of the vehicle in either direction of travel.

Maybe; With my commute, the prime objective is making sure I don't nail people who make left turns with checking that the coast is clear; A few weeks ago, I almsot T-boned an elderly couple who decided to make a left out of the Warminster West Diner and block the side of the road I was on because the opposing lane wasn't clear and they had absolutely no concept of how a center turn lane is supposed to work...

Mt dad has a '22 f250 Tremor Powerstroke sitting in the garage and decided he wanted to get something to run around town in. He picked up this '01 V6 5sp TRD with 176k last week. The clutch was going nearly to the floor before engaging and he asked me for help. I turned him onto Tacomaworld and was able to fix his issue in 20 minutes. I told him he needs to join!

I forced Gwyn to get full coverage on it; Remember the Subaru she totaled? That was a 2013 Outback that she inherited from a deceased relative; If he'd ever had payments, it was long since paid off by the time Gwyn got it, so Gwyn just got the title and it was hers. She didn't initially have full coverage on it, and I bugged her until she got it; Literally a month after getting full coverage on that car, which included collision and comprehensive, she slammed into a pole in a parking lot and totaled it. All of the airbags deployed and she walked away without a scratch; She now thinks Subarus are the safest cars on earth and is absolutely obsessed with them. She bought a 2010 Forester with almost 120K miles in the fall of 2021 and the engine blew up three weeks later; Pete put a new engine in it for $4,300 and now Gwyn's son and myself are trying to steer her away from Subarus. Subarus are good cars in my opinion, but they're not like Toyotas in the sense that you perform rudimentary maintenance and just forget about it; Gwyn looks for bargains, which in the case of Subarus landed with her a shitbox that obviously wasn't maintained by the previous owner.

I stopped doing that for now, and even though gas prices are sorta coming back down, I don't think I'm going back anytime soon; Why?

People are assholes, and I'm a very nice guy I don't have the patience for the people (mostly younger than me) that society is currently producing; Please read on...

This happened a couple weeks ago when I was using the rented RAV4 for DoorDash; It was a nice afternoon and I had all of the windows down. I was the right lane, in line at a red light on Street Road in Warminster, and I was en route to the Chick-Fil-A at the corner of Street Road and Jacksonville Road; This late model black Acura SUV with at least three teenagers in it passes me on the left. I couldn't see who was driving, but there was a fat white girl in the front seat and a burly black guy with an afro in the right rear seat. I saw out of the corner of my eye that girl in the shotgun seat was just staring me down. It wasn't a "you cut us off" road rage look, and she didn't even look particularly pissed off, but it made me uncomfortable. It was then that I noticed the black kid in the backseat was also staring at me; He didn't look pissed either, but he had this smirk on his face and he was just making me incredibly uncomfortable.

The kid with the afro did not break his stare, and he was making me incredibly uncomfortable; I kept glancing over, and when I'd finally had enough, I hit the "auto up" buttons for both the front and rear driver's side windows. The kid in the backseat started laughing uncontrollably, the light turned green, and the Acura was gone.

I don't think these kids had an ill intent, but I guarantee you that they made a pact to purposely stare down the driver of the next vehicle they saw that had the windows down and see how he or she reacted. I also would not be surprised if one of these shitheads had their smartphone hidden just out of my line of sight and was livestreaming a video directly to TikTok. Some people might not know this, but I live in the suburbs of the city where the knockout game originated. Teenagers were doing stupid online "challenges" before COVID was a thing, and the pandemic has increased their willingness to do stupid shit just to get noticed on social media. Again, not all of these teenagers have ill intent and I'm pretty sure that the kids in the Acura did not, but for crying out loud!

My Tacoma has some magnets on the tailgate that trigger people; I am not going to publicly discuss what these magnets say as it goes against the TW CoC, but some of my friends on here have seen these magnets and anybody who knows me well can probably figure out what some of them say... :D

Since the end of 2019, I have had people flip me off, refuse to let me get in front of them, and tailgate me just because they don't agree with what I've chosen to put on my tailgate; In the fall of 2020, some college age girl in a late model Subaru aggressively tailgated me for miles while I was headed North on Route 611. It was a nice day and I had the windows down, and I was jamming to Queen if I remember correctly. Luckily, I was going straight, and this chick in the Impreza was going right; So, I saw in my rearview mirror that this girl's driver's window was going down and she was roaring up on my right side. As stated above, she had been aggressively tailgating me for a few miles and had an obvious look of agitation on her face; Anticipating that I would be forced to hear her unwanted opinion, I turned up the late Freddie Mercury. She ended up next to me on the right and may have said something, but I couldn't hear her. She just glared at me; I went straight and she went right...

However, when this incident with the teenagers in the Acura took place, I say again that I was in a rented RAV4; There was nothing on RAV4, no bumper stickers or magnets, to trigger them. This was just some random bored teenagers and I was the most convenient target.

I have a concealed carry permit; I have always been pro-2A, but in my younger years didn't really have a desire to own a firearm.

In November 2020, I decided to get one because I wanted to see if the fact that I have an autism spectrum disorder would come up in the background check (it didn't); I was also worried that it would become harder to obtain a carry permit in the coming months.

I do have a carry permit, and I have gone shooting before, but I wanted to take training classes and go shooting quite a bit more before I bought my own weapon, and certainly before I started carrying that weapon in my truck.

I feel like simply doing DoorDash, even in the suburbs, has become a lot more risky just in the last few months; People are getting crazy. I would never want to take a human life, but if somebody were actively threatening my life or the life someone I care about, I would be willing to react with lethal force.

That said, I don't feel like I'm ready to carry a loaded handgun in my Tacoma yet, even thought I am legally able to do so.

In the last couple years, I never felt like people were singling me out, but I was worried that I was unknowingly doing something to draw their attention to me; This was the case the with the Acura full of teenagers who decided to stare me down while I was in the rental RAV4 a couple weeks ago...

Now, I am finally beginning to realize that this is just the society we live in now, and I largely blame social media; The ongoing COVID pandemic and the laundry list of other shit going on not just in America but around the world have no helped matters in the slightest.

    People. Are going. CRAZY!!! :goingcrazy:

I do have anxiety and slight obsessive compulsive disorder, which I take medication for, but I am sane enough to realize my own shortcomings in dealing with shit beyond my control. I am not one to go on the offensive, but if I feel backed into a corner or slighted in any way, I tend to become more than a bit irrational.

My therapist has helped me a lot with this, and with his help and the help of some other people, I've determined that the best way to avoid dealing with random nutcases is limit my exposure and not do things that put me into contact with them. I got sick of dealing with people who automatically assume that I'm up to no good because I'm taking a picture of their vehicle in a parking lot, so now I try to avoid doing that outside of car shows, and I use my phone if I see a vehicle I must have a picture of because it's a lot more discreet than my Nikon SLR. Haven't had an incident involving automotive photography since like May 2016...

Part of the reason I don't want to do DoorDash as much as I used to is because it increases my chances of running into crazy people, or people who don't necessarily have personal issues or a beef with me, but see me as a target of convenience for the latest TikTok challenge as was likely the case with the douchebags in the Acura. I drove up to Centralia and back twice in the span of a month with absolutely no issues; I drive all over the eastern side of Pennsylvania going to car shows and never have issues. When I'm on the turnpike, I'm just another guy on a roadtrip. However, doing DoorDash every weekend puts me at high risk of dealing with society's basketcases than taking a roadtrip of 2+ hours.

I've flown on a commercial jet by myself on three separate occasions and never had an issue (To Atlanta and back in August 2011, and from DFW to Philly in March 2014). I've been staying in hotels by myself at least once a year for the last five years and have never had an issue. I impulsively drove into a really shitty part of Philly a month ago for the chance to drive a couple of Mitsubishi Delicas, and though I'm pretty sure I almost witnessed a drive-by shooting, nothing happened that directly affected me.

My parents are worried that simply doing what I like do could lead to conflicts with strangers, but this has actually not been the case; By "things I like to do", I mean going to car shows, taking long and pointless roadtrips, and drinking with friends.

I am considered something of a rarity by some people, in that even by the standards of high-functioning autism spectrum disorders, I very extroverted and sociable. People like me, and in 33 years on this planet I haven't entirely figured out why; I have no problem making friends and people give me stuff just because they like me. I got pulled over for rolling a stop sign once, but I ended up making friends with the cop and not getting a ticket. My friend Olga, a Russian immigrant, once said in her thick accent "I like you Charlie, because you are not asshole." She speaks excellent English, but she spent the first 22 years of her life in Russia, and as a result speaks like you'd expect someone who grew up in Russia to speak (this includes leaving out words like "an" and "the" when speaking). I'm not an asshole, I never go out of my way to cause a conflict, and when I get really angry and/or defensive, it's almost always the direct result of someone pushing me to my limits.
