First bike was a white and red 01 f4i, bought it for 3500 in 2006, rode the piss out of it, wrecked it, built it back and sold it for… 3500 in 2009.

oddly enough they are still worth about 3500 now

Saturday April 9th I am planning on riding somewhere in PA, anyone else wanna join? either lost trails, aoaa or famous reading. Destination has not been decided yet.

I am taking my younger cousin who is on a sport quad, so this will be less of a single track trail ride...

Plan is drive out there Friday night eat sleep, ride saturday and drive back home same day.

damn, Id want to, but I dont think my bike would be good for AOAA. Have you looked into Bald Eagle? Or does that need to have tagged vehicles?

Either way, I cant make it unfortunately. :pout:

The dual sport trails of bald eagle don't open until Memorial day weekend and you need a tagged bike to ride them. Fun forest for sure.

not sure, I know he has a license plate for the quad but its not a street legal dual sport tag...

your bike would be a blast at AOAA, with some better tires, you dont need to be on a technical trail to have fun on your bike dont bring that negativity

remember my bike is wide, even if I take off the soft bags. Im not going to remove the rear pannier brackets though.

I dont have enough experience to be going to a park

That product has your name written all over it. :boink:

Get in the dirt and get some experience. AOAA's main trails aren't even Rausch Greens. They are like state forest roads.

this is exactly what we are after for this trip, our goal is log as many trouble free miles as possible

we wont be carrying much if any in terms of spares/tools either so we will most definitely err on the side of caution here as far as trail selection and pace goes

I would like to check out the whaleback, so that will probably be the direction we first head out on

I wanted to do lost trails, the drive is much less coming off long island, but it seems AOAA is better suited for what we want on this trip, long open trails with minimal tire pinching boulder debris

Welp managed to swap out the cable, and get the tension adjusted. bike rides great now. here's a pic of the old one...what do you guys think was the cause? I'm leaning toward a faulty unit/manufacturing defect as it doesn't seem to be a common failure for my bike. Maybe too sharp of an edge on my aftermarket lever grinding away at it? But from what I could see, it didn't seem like there was much contact, if at all

*Don't mind all the grime, that got stuck on there after I took it out and let it sit on the floor of the garage

Yeah lost trails can be done in a couple of hours if you stick to those main super easy trails. But I would say riding wise lost trails greens are like Rausch greens. Definitely more challenging there, but the view from Top of the World and the ledges around TOTW are soooo much fun.

If you want to do a single track day we can probably arrange something with @Wheelspinner and I. The one single track has turned into almost a double track due to quads accidentally getting lost and coming in, but there is one super tight bar busting single track and another super rocky intense single track that has a rocky gate keeper that does a good job at keeping the quads out.

Looks pretty dry to me as well. Only times I've had a cable like that is on a bike where they weren't lubed sufficiently or the bike was ridden a lot in rain and then sat for a while. Had that happen on my Buell after a Laconia trip in the 90's. Hours in pouring rain to get there. Riding every day in the rain while there and then NOT lubing them back up after we got home.

That’s a common place for the clutch cable to fail, since it gets fatigued from both the tensile energy but also the angle from the perch. The cable from my Ninja looked identical to yours.

What’s the silver car in the background? Looks like a 330ci coupe?
