Buyer beware: SOS off-road concepts

The last time there was a major thread about a TW buyer not getting what he paid for, it was the pressure from the thread that caused him to pay up. Why lock the thread and give the vendor a free pass? It can be locked when he makes it right. Until then he and the business deserve all the flak they get here.

 

Unfortunately you all know as well as anyone else if you lock it down it will… uhh…

 

Trust me I have been trying to reach Eddy. Or anyone at SOS. I'm sure we all have.

Email, phone calls, through the website. And been doing this for a month now. The reason why I'm here now is because I have exhausted those resources and reaching out to others who may have other routes.

I'm not trying to burn anyone. I just want some info. I'd rather not go to my bank, or Military Legal for this if it can be resolved. What's a few more days going to hurt!? Hahaha

 

But that's wayyyyy in the past and water under the bridge yet you brought it up. If it's water under the bridge then it should of never been said. There is a difference in FROM and what I said and did.

 

SOS isn't a Vendor and hasn't been for a long while for this exact reason. He hasn't been online in a long long time. What you're seeing here is 3 yrs in the making maybe longer. KARMA is an ugly thing.

 

Don't wait any longer would be my advice. That goes for anybody and everybody that has an open order that hasn't received shipping notifications.

I meant vendor in the general sense, I did see the company’s been pulled from the TW vendor list, obviously for good reason.

Let me tell you guys something by the way, no forum that I’ve ever seen goes as far as this one does to right wrongs done to members and to generally protect them. The moderators on most if not all enthusiast or specialty forums do everything they can to avoid getting involved.

 

100% truth right there. I haven't seen anywhere else go to the lengths TW does. Sadly though I think like Pelfrey and Mobtown this may be out of their scope to right the wrongs and individuals will have to handle this themselves.

 

Why are you pushing to lock the thread? It’s a product review; an extremely accurate and educational review confirmed by countless others. Something that exists to protect the members of the forum. I commend you on wanting to stick up for a friend, but let’s please allow honest communication here. How many people have found themselves upside down bc a thread didn’t exist to offer a real product review? (Not slander, zero tolerance for that, I get it). When members go to use the search feature (after everyone slammed them for not using it) and the search filters all the results bc the keyword of the said company isn’t allowed to be talked about, who does that affect? The last thing we need is a thread talking about a dying company with who knows how many unfulfilled orders to just vanish. Did no one watch Pelfrey melt? Too many members here lost out on their money altogether bc it had been too many weeks/months after their purchase for their CC companies to chase it down. No one around here on TW should want that out of this situation, so respectful and educational real product reviews should be highly encouraged. If it ever gets to the point of slander or dick measuring, mods just deal with individuals accordingly please. Some of us here just want the best for the rest.

 

Why? We aren’t breaking rules and we certainly aren’t going to be promoting the sale of SOS. I think we’d like to hear how this plays out. We’ll continue to be respectful of the rules, of course.

 

Mobtown recently too when they sold. Also Rock Solid Toys and the list continues.

 

Exactly. I had no idea they were banned because a representative started a new thread and people were raving about the product (also affiliated?). I’m lucky I got my sliders after 20ish weeks, but I certainly wouldn’t have ordered had I known they were banned.

 

Exactly the point. If threads can’t exist to talk about people having their money tied up in unfulfilled orders, more people come along and make the same mistake. Threads lock, disappear, owners make out cash in hand, and at the expense of TW members’ lives.

 

Also, maybe we should ban the two affiliated guys who are bickering on here?

This ^^^^^^^^^ not only that but I'm defending those and offering sound advice and as much insight as I can to those who have open orders still.
