I really don't understand everybody trying to poke holes in this. It's all been proven time and time again that the GME story is a tech turnaround at worst, and the greatest short squeeze in the history of the markets at best.

 

Had enough money. Currently waiting on BBIG to pull it's head out of it's ass then I will, again, have enough money. lol

I've traded GME a few times. In at $150 and out at $180. lol

 

Proven to be a turnaround? I’m not sure revenue has shown that yet.

I actually was gifted a few bottles at christmas, cost me no money.

 

So thinking about this split, since its in the form a of a dividend, only owned shares will get the split.

A fake share cant split, so it seems this would instantly expose all the fakes as they wouldnt pay out the dividended shares, but the owner of those fake, loaned out shares would have to find a replacement for that in the form of buying more shares to issue that dividend.

Probably wrong as I dont know what I am talking about though.

All shares are owned. They have to be. By some legal entity or another.

I think what you're getting at is that if there are indeed a ton of rehypothecations and naked/synthetic shorts as the GME'ers allege that this would be a problem for the parties holding those positions because it would require very expensive actions on their part that would drive share price higher. Assuming all the assumptions are correct, that assumption is correct.

I am not entirely convinced all the assumptions are correct. It is a bit of a logical conundrum to argue that a system is corrupt to the core and then argue, simultaneously, that the same system's on-paper rules can be used to punish said corruption. One or the other, surely. The classic argument against this would be the buy-button being turned off last Jan entirely without consequence.

Not necessarily. There's some nuance that has to be accounted for. A dividend split in and of itself will not cause a share recall.

It has nothing to do with synthetic shorts.

At the end of the day, all we're concerned about is real shares. The synthetics are irrelevant until they are called in.
