    Thanks fellas

I want 5.29 gears but no one makes them yet for the front, I need to start another thread asking folks to request them from Nitro, Yukon etc. The truck is still getting the same mileage with the skids and feels like it is more planted on the road. You do lose some clearance with them but protection is really nice.

That pic looks awesome, your truck will be badass on 35's. Could you do another one with the bed bobbed? I have been picturing it in my head for awhile and i'm curious how it is going to look.

Its noticeable, not as bad as I thought it was going to be but you can feel it for sure. Hills are where I feel the weight most the 4.88's pull most hills at 55 or 60 in 4th gear if I can keep the rpm's above 2500. I think 5.29s would compensate for the weight in the sense that it would feel like it did with 4.88's, 33's and no armor.

Thanks, IMO they are better than the KM2's, laterally they are more stable, clear better in mud and blow the KM2's away in snow and ice. The compound in these tires is almost "sticky" feeling and they perform really well all around and are quiet as well. The magazine that 4 wheel parts puts out (can't remember the name of it) just had an article on them the guy is running them on a 1st gen Tacoma in a 305/70r17 and I think that article sums them up really well.

Love the truck man, been waiting to see someone with a twin-stick and standard tranny!

I never really liked the swing away tire carriers but everytime I see them they grow on me!

Too late, already rusty once it warms up I plan to pull them off and hit them with a wire wheel then paint them. That is my work truck next to my pick up it has 35x12.50r17 General Grabbers on it. I put the red letters on the inside only have about 3k on them so far but will be curious how the Grabbers do this summer.

I have not had the Grabbers in the snow enough to really say a whole lot about them but the little bit of snow driving I have done with them they surprised me and did better than I thought they would. The Grabbers are built really beefy in the side walls and they are really quiet considering the size of the lugs. In the dirt I will say they are pretty good they hook up and throw a good roost with 3k on them they are showing almost no wear. The truck they are on sees the majority of its use in the summer, spring and fall it sits most of the winter so I can't give a whole of feed back on them. I would say the MTR's are a better all around choice for me personally but the Grabber seem to be a really good tire as well. Sorry I don't have more info for you hope that helps.

How do you like the Camburg UCA's? Did you have them put in new ball joints or did you use your stock ones? I'm looking at getting some for the runner, but have only heard 1 quick review and it wasn't good.

Well I can only compare them to the stock UCA's but I have been really pleased with them. They did give me what looks like more downtravel due to increased clearance around the shock. I did not have any alignment issues with the stock UCA's or the Camburgs so that was a non factor for me. I had new ball joints pressed in by Wheelers when I purchased them. I like the fact that they don't sqeak like uniballs and the price was a big factor in going with them. The only thing I did not like about them was the boot that protects the ball joint is a pain to get on but that is a minor complaint IMO. Hope that helps.

Great write up. Makes me even more excited to put 35's on my taco. Where do you fight fires out of? I noticed you had a BLM truck. I used to work for the Bonneville hotshots out of Salt Lake City, Hard work, but good times.
