When I bought my 2019 TRDOR it had a 1.5" spacer lift in the front and a 2" lift block in the rear.

Originally I planned to ditch the spacer lift go a little bit taller. I found a set of Freedom Offroad UCAs for a great price and stored them in the garage for when I needed them in the future. Non-adjustable, but couldn't complain for the price. Plans changed and I'm happy with the smaller lift height on the truck. So I picked up a set of Fox 2.0 coilovers and shocks from a guy who had just traded his truck in for a great price. ~5K miles on them.

I compressed the springs and gave them a few turns, and ended up netting a little less than the 1.5" spacer I had originally, probably ~1.25" if I had to guess. I can still clear my 285/70/17 BFG KO2s just fine on the road. (Haven't checked at full suspension flex yet). I'm also planning on the Icon 1.5" AAL in the rear soon.

My question is, should I install the UCAs since I already have them? Freedom Offroad has them listed as 2"-4" of lift. I don't get nearly as much bump steer with the Fox coilovers as I did with the spacers. I noticed while installing the new suspension at full droop the stock UCA hit the coilovers.

Benefits? Disadvantages? I know they aren't technically needed, but I do already have them and wouldn't take much work to get them installed.

Just for reference, Camburg sells a kit with the Fox 2.0's and their UCAs, but their UCAs are listed as 1"-3" of lift.

IMO definitely install UCA’s. Benefits better alignment. Contact on coil won’t happen. Allow a little more caster. Tire wear etc.

Had the same train of thought. I don't really see any big disadvantages.

What are the chances that my 285/70/17's rub after the UCA install with only 1.25 of lift?

You definitely will be trimming and possibly need cab mount chop.

I had a really bad experience trying to install Freedom Offroad UCA's on my old Nissan Frontier, specifically the problem was they obviously hadn't actually tested them on a lifted Frontier. They just copied the stock uca and tweaked the ball joint angle a little. YRMV with the Tacoma version but they seem kinda cheap to be mixing with that nice Fox suspension.

Even though they don't rub now with the Fox 2.0 coilovers and stock UCAs?

I didn't think the added castor would move the tires in the wheel well that much, but maybe I'm looking at it wrong..

I got them for a steal and so I don't feel terrible about having them, but only because I've seen decent reviews of them on the Tacoma forums. Seems to be a direct copy of another offroad company's UCA rather than a copy of the stock. But you're right about tweaking the ball joint angle, which is why I'm a little iffy about installing them with a smaller lift. Trying to avoid a CMC or a ton of cutting..

In case tire spec would influence anyone's opinion on the aftermarket UCAs causing rubbing issues with the Fox 2.0s:

Fuel Shok 17x9 with an offset of +1 wrapped in 285/70/17 BFG KO2's
