This is not a thread to discuss what is the over all best, this is to help me decide what you guys think is best for me, if thread turns in to an argument ill have the mods delete it.

Sooooooooo, I LOVE android. BUT everything i use at home is apple.....ive never had an iPhone because im on Verizon, but now that Verizon has the iPhone im quite intrigued.

im deciding between either the iPhone OR the htc Thunderbold or Moto Bionic.

    Pros of iPhone:
    i get to be trendy
    everything i own is apple
    easier/makes sense with mobileMe
    always wanted one.
the quickness and smoothness of the overall usage of the iPhone

    Cons of iPhone:
i have to be trendy :p
it will only be available on a 3G service.
i wont have the customizability as i do with Android.

i keep thinking why would i spend $300 on a BRAND NEW phone on verizon when i cant even utilize Verizon's 4G LTE service?

But in the same token how much of that 4G LTE network will i really be able to use (i live in san diego), this early in the game realistically?

    Pros and cons for Android:

    Pros:
Thunderbolt/Bionic will have Dual Core processing. (potentially be WAY faster than the iPhone)
    BIG screen (wich i love)
Androids amazing operating system. (that does have its flaws)
More Customizability (launchers, widgets, rooting etc)
on Verizon's ne 4G LTE service.
Standard 32gb built in memory with a slot for a microSD card (that can take another 32gb card) for potentially 64gb's of memory.

    Cons:
I feel like Androids operating system still isnt as smooth and responsive as iOS (wich is a big con for me)
harder to integrate with my apple product.
apps suck compared to apples. (IMO)
i use itunes. its hard with android.
I dont like HTC sense....(but i love Moto)

so its hard for me to justify this.

i currently have the 1st gen Moto Droid. Rooted with ultimate droid. and i love it but its still not as good as iOS

    thoughts on this?

(i work at best buy, so i will do the buy back program either way so i can get the iPhone 5G on Verizon's 4G LTE network in june)

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
There are a ton of crap apps on android because anyone and everyone can make them, they don't have to approved like on apple, however, there are a ton of ggod ones too, you just have to sort through the shit.

    IMO

You are creative and artisitic and would be good for android, allowing you to not be restricted to apples terms, BUT since everything else you own is apple, you may just want to stick with that.

If you ever get out from under the apple rock, go android, get a pc, and so on.

Yeah, my mom will be getting the iPhone for verizon tomorrow so i will be trying it out. maybe the better network will make it a better phone? o_O

AGREED! i hate that about android!!!!

BUT android is different than a PC operating system, i wouldnt compare it to that at all. now if i was talking about a (garbage) windows phone THEN i would understand :p
i will never buy PC!!! :crapstorm:

from what i've heard the androids are battery hogs.

I would wait until summer when the iphone5 comes out and then make a decision.

Honestly, after using an Android, I love my iPhone even more. Simply because it's just so easy to use. :p

Yeah, it's not as customizable as the Android or has HDMI ports or expandable memory or a satellite dish and whatever else it has, but I don't need all that in my phone.

Also, I'm pretty sure the iPhone will eventually be available with 4G.

Wait for the 4g iphone to come out if you are going the apple route. And if i had to give an opinion on what phone for you to purchase it would be an Android. Make sure to purchase one with the new 2.3OS software and read reviews aswell before purchasing. cnet.com has great phone reviews. Also if you guys havent herd, MetroPCS now has androids for $50 a month unlimited everything. I have the LG Optimus from Metro and I love it. The service is great, I love how its got the android market and the unlimited amounts of apps, wifi is supperior, battery life is awesome. But IMO Google>Apple in the phone market.

I say iPhone. But you can't go wrong with either. Me and a friend would always talk bad about eachothers phones. He had an android. The other day he finally admitted he thinks the iPhone is overall a little better. He liked the "smoothness" of it.

Android all the way, Apple has about 20,000 apps, Android has about 80,000 apps. My HTC incredible has a faster processer, my video camera shoots at 23 frames per sec the Iphone shoots at 9 per second, the HTC has a true browser with the option to get other browsers. with the HTC or any phone other than the Iphone you can buy parts for it like extended batteries any parts, the I phone is Glass you drop it your out $500 to get a new one. I would wait till March when Verizon puts the LTE network in use(true 4g) and get your new android than. The only thing I like about the Iphone is the retina display my HTC is not bad at all, The Android you can customize the Iphone NO, I can go on and on you get the Point.

I haven't compared to verizon but AT&T 3G vs Sprint 4G. My iPhone was much faster than my buddies EVO on 4G. iPhone is just freaking quick
