Drove my truck today with the new knob, feels good and different. I don't really notice that the ziptie was not installed but I'm sure dust can accumulate inside the leather skirt.

 

As I said. It’s freaking easy. Trick is to place the shifter in neutral and pull the handbrake as high as you can. Instructions are spot on. Pics include tools I used. It’s a10 minute job at most. It’s worth the wait. Pls disregard the dirt and dust. It’s my daily

No one has been screwed, you guys know we have been backed up more than we would like but knobs started shipping out already, only knobs without button functionality have shipped so far, we are waiting on springs to come in in order to assemble the button knobs.
To anyone who wants the upgrade to functional button, you may receive the knob without the button functions, if that happens, don't worry! you will receive the upgrade as soon as we get those springs in.

 

Guys I'm reading through the thread and seeing some of the dificulties with install, we will have an installation video really soon. I'll be online for a couple hours today

 

Yes it would be easier to make it so it just snaps, but then you have to keep the chrome piece, which most people don't like, you also have a different shape and it wouldn't look good to go from that shape to the round shape of the knob. you could also buy a blackout ring for the chrome piece but that also means you have to buy another thing so you (the user) don't really save much that way.
As far as the install goes, I agree it could be easier, and we're going to be looking for a way to make it easier but this is NOT DIFFICULT AT ALL. I just recorded a quick video install...

Got my shipping email yesterday and received it today (nice living really close).

Installed the shift knob from @FreshMexicanTaco.

Super simple and done in about 10 minutes. Only thing I will mention is you want to move the shifter to "N" as it makes it easier to get the knob through so you can zip tie the boot back on.

Adds 5hp….

 

Got mine installed took about 15 minutes. I am really happy with the quality and feel of it.

I have a friend that paints Dungeon and Dragons miniatures he had all the paint the ultra fine brushes and patience to paint it for me.

 

Install took 10 minutes, super easy.
