I'm going back to Centralia on Memorial Day Weekend! Not taking the truck this time though, as I'm going with three other friends and we're gonna have to take one of their vehicles because my truck doesn't have a backseat!

Hopefully; I know from experience that snow isn't a particularly big deal, but rain will suck the fun right out of it! I'd be going up with my friends Dave, John, and Olga; As stated above, my truck has no backseat so it is out of the question for a group roadtrip. The three friends I've mentioned all have SUVs, so we'd all go in one of their vehicles and the other three would give whoever's vehicle it is money for gas.

I'm not familiar with the knockout challenge?

This is true. I have zero time, patience, or compassion for morons. I don't carry though, not allowed.

Sounds like she's my kinda people too

Yup, and just the way life goes it would work out that you do something to defend your life and you're the one in trouble. Totally backwards. I have been meaning to get another Kershaw just to leave in the truck.

Reminds me i gotta get to lifting again..been about a year now, I gotta reclaim my weight room.

Yeah, don't put it off; just slowly get reacclimated. Journey of a thousand miles, single step & all that. When you get that initial adrenaline rush you'll be back in the swing of things.

The knockout challenge is where a group of people, generally teenage kids, pick a person at random and then punch them in the back of the head as hard as they can to see if they can knock them unconscious...

I would agree, but if they actually knock you out, what can you do? If I didn't get knocked out, I'd put the assailant in the hospital without a second thought, but that's if I don't get knocked out.

My truck is 5 years old today, sure doesn't seem that long but the miles are still low at a little over 41K.

When my truck was five years, it had low miles; It was purchased new in September 2009 and had 20 miles. By October 2013, it had like 32K miles and by the end of summer 2015 I had over 50K. End of 2016 I had like 68K, and at the end of 2017 I had just shy of 80K; So, it took until 2018 for my truck to reach "average mileage" for its age, as prior to 2015 I only drove to college and local car shows. It was in the summer of 2016 that I went to Carlisle solo for the first time and after that is when I started taking serious road-trips to go to car shows...

I hit 90K in the wee hours of the morning on Thanksgiving in 2018 while driving a drunk friend home, and I hit 100K in mid-July 2019. It was between Thanksgiving of 2018 and right before the COVID pandemic that I really started racking up miles the first time, putting 18K on my truck in the entirety of 2019. Despite COVID and not doing DoorDash at all between March 2020 and January 2021, I still put something like 15K on my truck in 2020 due to all the car shows I still managed to go to...

2021 has been the record year so far, with 20K miles put on my truck for the year and over 6,000 just doing DoorDash!

I've been pretty consistent at 15K a year prior to March 2020, between that and the 3 months getting the frame I put on 14K since that time.

    @shakerhood

So, it took me just under a decade to put 100K on my truck, which is actually low considering that my dad put 99K on his 2013 Honda Pilot between buying it new in May 2013 and trading it for the Yukon in November 2018; My cousin beat that when she bought a brand new 2017 RAV4 and put 99K on it in four years before trading it for a new Highlander in 2021.

I was at under 110K when the pandemic started, and I hit 120K on November 3rd, 2020. By late February 2021, I had 125K miles; I forget exactly when I hit 130K, but I know I was right around 140K when the dealer replaced my frame. It has been over four months since the frame replacement, and I hit 147K last weekend, so that's about 7K miles since Thanksgiving 2021!

So, I've put 22K miles on my truck in a little over 13 months!

I use the trip odometer to log the miles I put on my truck in a month, and this is March 2022; It's short probably 300 miles because that was the time I had the RAV4 while the Tacoma was in the body shop...

CEL and traction control lights came on when I left a doctor's appointment this morning; Went to AutoZone and used their OBDII diagnostic tool. Most likely issue is the ignition coil...

I guess I'm just at the age and mileage where something wears out every couple of months?!?!

So, the #1 ignition coil was totally roasted and smelled burnt; The shaking on startup was the result of a misfire, and I was likely intermittently driving around on only three cylinders for quite some time. This did not harm the engine, but it certainly explains why my truck seemed to lag under acceleration at times and why my gas mileage has been particularly bad!

Never done that before so Pete did it; I paid for two new coils and he didn't charge me labor.

The funny thing is that he is within walking distance of the dealer that replaced my frame. This dealer seriously overcharges customers for parts, but Pete gets some sort of discount because he's a mechanic who regularly buys in bulk. Pete started his own shop because he believes dealers tend to be unethical!
