Has anyone been up on Johnny Park trail? This trail turns off 36 between Lyon’s and Estes and heads up Big Elk Rd towards Allenspark, Cabin Creek rd.

If anyone has been up there recently I’d love to know if it’s passable in a stock OR?

    Mahalo!

Unless things have changed drastically, it should be.
Take the short walk to the fire watch tower.

Thanks. I used to live up on Cabin Creek rd but moved after the flooding in Sep 2013. First time back in 8 years and Hwy 7 up to Allenspark is closed again!

I’ll have a look on the maps for the fire watch tower.

    Cheers!

Gates are closed and not open until summer for vehicles. Might check online, they were letting alternating traffic through on 7 during the am and pm commutes if your looking to come up then

Thanks bud, I did see the commute option.

We’re camping down in Lyon’s so we may just do a loop, head to Estes and potter around our old neighbourhood in cabin creek and head down with the pm commute after picking up some water at crystal springs. If you don’t know of it, it’s the best water, ever!

Can’t wait to get back up the hill, Longs looked just as amazing as the first time I saw it 11 years ago.
