You are absolutely right. I had to put my big boy pants on(after I shaved a weird bit of excess off the connector)

just a bit of panic for my gorgeous new tail lights that I’ve waited 6 months for haha

 

I finally received my taillights from MESO today, and as luck would have it, one of the tabs is broken off (passenger-side assembly). I just created a support ticket...

 

Mine was the same. Heard the piece hit the garage floor before I ever noticed it. Honestly it all tucks back in pretty securely so I wasn’t worried about it. Worst case, I kept the broken off piece and can super glue it haha

Lunch break “projects”. These were well worth the wait. The clears look amazing on cement. Now I have to find some time to wash the Taco.

I guess I was a bit off! All those electronics in the morimoto ones must be a bit heavier. My oems were like 7.5-8lbs.

 

I installed my xb headlights today, now I'm ready for my xb tails

 

Toyota could have made LED headlights as part of the trail edition package and upcharge another $1k as most people, me included, would feel hesitant to swap the headlights aftermarket, but dang the amber XB is definitively unique, you sir have the coolest trail Taco with this upgrade

when I shopped for LED headlights, I also looked into the XB, but read some flickering issue and the fact that it taps into the fuse box for DRL, that kinda steered me to the OEM LED, but I assume you got the updated gen 2 of the XB lights, hopefully all the kinks and bugs have been worked out for you

 

Thank you I really appreciate that! And yeah I don't know why toyota didn't offer led headlights for the trail edition, especially since you can get an offroad with leds for less money. I 100% would have paid an extra $1K for them, but I'm also happy they didn't because I love the amber drl lol. Yeah these are the gen 2's and I haven't heard any bad things about them. Plus I have a local shop who is a morimoto retailer, so if i have any issues I can get them handled easily

I think you're correct.

Those 2 top plugs are for Sequential or standard turn signal and they plug into each other. All explained in this video.

No broken tabs or cracks of any kind, nothin but pure MESO - MORIMOTO goodness. Clear lenses on Super White, well worth the wait! Thank you @MESO !

 

Glad you didn't strip it and tap in, I was worried there for a minute too with that bottom plug when I was looking at it, but I got it plugged in with some finesse.
