Right? I think expectations are around $40k. so it competes with the golf R. Subaru is off the map with no hatch and no STi variant. There's no more Evo. There's the CTR. Uhhhhh maybe an Audi of some sort? A 300hp 6spd hatchback with awd is becoming a rare thing these days and we should be excited that Toyota of all manufacturers is giving us sports cars. If I could afford one I would be pre ordering one today.

 

yeah just hard to justify. I'd love something that got a tad better gas mileage. But honestly, the little red SX gets over 20mpg. If I can get the clutch sorted and can do the 5th gear swap it'd do better even. And that truck only cost 4500. I've put about 2-3k into Id guess in maintenance and parts.

Thats a lot cheaper than a new car haha and gas isn't going to make up the difference. Plus I do like how I can drive it to work in all weather no matter what. If I had that hatch I'd end up driving Igor to work here and there on the bad snow days due to drifts.

Still is very cool to see Toyota doing cars like this. Thank god.


It's still a shame the Yaris GR never made it here.

 

Definitely cool to see Toyota's last little hurrah of ICE in the US. Might be something I'd pick up to whip around in 10 years or so. Just not a style of vehicle I have any interest in whatsoever really.

I mean it has two beds and 6 seat belts so you could do it but boy it would start to feel cramped. For 2 people and too dogs its good. Quite a luxurious upgrade from the rtt!

Yeah your 1st gen SC and likely many later TRD and Magnuson SC worked fine with the keyed pulley design.

I'm thinking the design was changed at some point in the recent past. The pulley that I received doesn't work with the new design.

 

Well I'd give Pulley boys a call and see what they can do for you. I'm sure they can get you want you want and need.
