    Fuck. Yes.

I'm all about homemade go karts! So, get ready for way too much information at once.....

That predator engine is a Chinese knockoff of the much, much better Honda GX platform. Real world actual performance, that 212cc predator is equivalent to a Honda GX160 not the GX200. Shit that GX200 is crazy stupid powerful, but way extra monies. Don't get me wrong, the predator is just fine for an easy cheap workaround, I've seen a couple of them in the circuit back when I used to hang around amateur go kart racing, but they have no real longevity, and if anything breaks its easier and cheaper to buy a whole nother engine vs the Honda which has real service parts.

The next important thing to think about is the power output. with the predator youre stuck with needing both a centrifugal clutch and a torque converter. Or you can be real redneck and use a bunch of jackshafts to get to a good final gear ratio (like what I did when I made my chainsaw powered schwin stingray) something like a Comet brand, theyre the most well known and best reputation of quality for stuff like this, will give you a tighter package and only require one chain to the axle...

but you can also buy a honda spec engine with a built in wet gear reduction which is far far superior to a belt driven torque convertor, they still need a clutch but you can buy just a sprocket clutch from Comet. Those engines are what get run on go karts you expect to last.... if you've ever been to a rental track all the karts have honda GX motors with the wet clutch.

And there's 2 styles of honda engines spec'd with wet clutches, the models youd be interested in will be a GX160UT2HX2 (which has a 6:1 ratio) or a GX160UT2LX2 (which has a 2:1 ratio) you're smart enough to know this but I'm gunna share anyway, the HX2 has better acceleration vs the better top speed on the LX2 model.. but it can also come down to what size sprocket you run on you're rear live axle. Also the HX2 is more common in industry so they'll be cheaper to source. Also if you wanted to go with the bigger Honda, use those same ending type codes and just change the front to a GX200

The big boy race track I run (but I haven't raced in about 5yrs) use a GX270 with the wet gear reduction case and those fuckers will do 45mph with the governor still installed....... my modified GX200HX2 would run 57mph before I used up all of straight stretches

(the middle digits just indicates the generation which UT2 is the most current one I believe)

Do you want my 10hp Briggs? It comes with a free generator that works at least 30 Hertz

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I want to say yes without question........ but I promised the missus I'd control my hoarding

As a package, does it take up less cubic footage than 4 stock 15" tacoma steelies stacked in 2 columns of 2? Cause if so (total height depending) I'll absolutely take it as soon as I get these rims cleaned, powdercoated(or painted) and installed lol

Picture fail... I don't have one showing the entire underside of my bench. What I'm trying to say is I have alot of truck parts taking up my hoarding space

The 3.5 for the mr2 looks good. Can’t beat it for free. Block surface looks solid enough to not worry about. So pistons will be ordered and we’re going to toss them in just like we di at work with the warrant enhancements on the Camry 2.5l… no home or nuthin. It’ll be fine

Huh. That seems like a crazy small v6

    What is its total length?

Off hand I have no clue. It’s physically larger than the 3.4l in the tacos… the heads are massive

I’ve got to get the pistons swapped over, check all the valves, and swap all the factory oil cooler goodies on it

I can’t wait to have this sucker singing.
12.5:1 compression at 7300 rpm. She’ll be a wonderful little monster. All while weighing less than the stock 3S.

Probably autobahn in Joliet and gingerman in Michigan at some point. When I have it running it’s getting trailered to TCS to be properly dyno tuned. It’ll be on a 2015 sienna ecu that’s been cracked. As far as we can see it’ll be the first 3.5 running factory hybrid pistons in an FE

That hurt. I’m 90% sure I’ll be selling the red taco once it’s got a frame under it. I’ve fallen in love with the GR corolla…

    01, 98 and 95 staying for now
