Went to Home Depot today to get some plywood and stuff.
That has got to be some of the finest lumber I've ever seen.

 

If it’s a who sounds the most like a dump truck contest, I win. With the new trans this thing literally sounds like a heavy duty truck. I’m in 3rd by the time I’m through an intersection when the light turns green

Looking for some input here.

What kind of set ups are you guys running for trail comms? Cheap ham HT, dual band mobile rig, digital radios with aprs?

In reality I wouldn't be using a ham that often, but I've been doing some research and the SMSGTE texting type functions peaked my interest. The people who I camp with don't have radios, and I'd like a way to contact them when I'm out of cell service, but I'm not familiar with how widespread of coverage there is with the right digital repeaters in different parts of the state. Wondering if anyone has any experience is that department.

I have used my Kenwood d710g to text my wife from a variety of places and was surprised she got them...

Its a nice radio that does aprs and is dual band.
