Probably over-worrying about this, but have been doing lots of maint. on the 2016 3.5l 4x4 that I have. Front and rear diff drain and fill, transfer case drain and fill, coolant flush and refill, transmission drain and refill (pinned thermostat open as I have a towing package and should bring my temps down from the 190 degree thermostat). Anyways was cleaning the MAF and throttle body today and on the way out of the part store they had techron on sale, I picked up a bottle. While filling my tank with it I lost the freaking aluminum seal on top of the techron bottle into the tank. Should I even be worried about this?

It'll be fine, it will float around in there and shouldn't even make it into the pump bucket. Definitely won't make it through the pickup screen let alone the pump filter even if it does.

    You'll be fine.

I figured as much but wanted some other folks to re assure me lol. I looked back at the bottle and was in disbelief. I'll be sure to pull it all the way off next time...I could just envision dropping my fuel tank and fishing it out. Good fun.

About to roll over 90k and neglected some things at 60k. Figured I should catch up. Noticeable difference in trans shifting.

The foil piece is pretty thin. It should dissolve in about 124 years.

I've been using Chevron Techron for years and came close to doing that exact thing... the foil can be a real pita to remove. Now i just poke a hole in the foil and use a small funnel with a screen inside (Coleman lantern white gas funnel) to add the Techron to the tank.

No worries. For a minute I thought you were going to say something like “I bought a Tacoma”.

I've done that a few times with other vehicles and never had a problem and that was like 8 or 10 years ago
