It is the regular Maker's 46 bourbon - they have just switched to a new bottle that better reflects the Maker's Mark brand identity. This is what the bottles looked like previously. It is one of my favorite bourbons.

Uh, yeah it’s tasty. It’s nearly impossible to get around here. Had to try it at whiskey bar. It wasn’t cheap.

Someone needs to compile a list of the good ones in this forum. There is no way I'm going to read all 700 pages in this thread. "Tacoma World Whisky Guide"

A couple years ago my wife and I decided we wanted to cut back on drinking a little. Our method was that we would only buy nice stuff instead of the boxed wine like booze. It worked a little bit we mostly just spent more money.

I find myself returning time and time again to Breckenridge Bourbon. It's about $45/bottle. Not the most expensive but not too bad. I've never had anything as good. I like it neat.

I'm running low on scotch, so off to TW I go to restock. They had a few Blanton's on the shelf and I reflexively put one in my cart. Ended up putting it back as I already have one and gave up buying them a long time ago.

I ended up with replenishing my favorite (Oban 14), buying one I haven't had in a few years (Balvenie DW) and another I've never had (JW 18). I had the JW Gold about 10 years ago and it was awesome. At some point they changed the blend and it became mediocre. So I stayed away for awhile, but decided to give this 18 yr a try.

Little Bay is also good, but I don't think it's better, just different (and it costs more). I have yet to try the 18 or Distillers Edition - double in price of the 14, so probably won't.

Anyone tried 1792 Bottled in Bond? Just came in locally. Hear it’s hard to get.

It’s been a year since I got to enjoy a day with my dad. Today was a good day.

I’m huge fan of Oban 14. I have a bottle just waiting to be opened.

What would be cool is to have a TW meetup each year at a different location off the grid, and we each bring our favorite bottle. We sample and then rank them.

Although I stocked up on scotch yesterday, last night's drink was Japanese. Hibiki is a blend of up to 30 different malt and grain whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu and other Suntory distilleries. Its what some would call smooth - it doesn't punch you in the face when you drink it. Delicious.
