    I must ask. Why would you want a winch cradle made from stainless steel? I ask because stainless is not as strong as steel. With winching you need strength.

    The northeast eats everything up. Stainless and aluminum at least delay the process a bit.

    Didn't consider that, is it the road salt or just the salt air? Seems your truck might be eaten up before a substantial winch mount.

    It's probably a combination of both. I hadn't considered the strength aspect enough... figured that stainless is probably strong enough, looks like I need to do a bit more digging

    I know this is bit of an older thread, but I am seriously considering one of these bumpers and was wondering what were people's experience was winching using the stump bumper? I really like the weight savings of the aluminum but worry a bit about strength. I was thinking of using this bumper with a frame support bracket (like from C4) for added strength mounting to the frame. But was curious what peoples experience was with this bumper while winching.
