    Speaking of dead things.

I got the buyout for my rig. $5400 will be the payout after my deductible and $800 buyback. This is because it has existing body damage from other non-reported incidents. Without that deduction the value was $8500 minus deductible and buyback which would net $7100.

Here's the fun part. I can open another claim and then I would get the higher value but another $500 deductible would be taken out for a total of $6600. The coil bucket failure was caused by a pothole and is a non-fault incident. So my rates won't go up. If I open another claim for the body damage suffered through hard wheeling it will be at-fault according the the liability adjuster I spoke with. That would cause my rates next cycle to go up.

So, leave $1200 on the table and have no-fault or take that $1200 and deal with a rate increase. I'm inclined to take the lower offer. Thoughts?

That's my thought exactly. It's not like I'm losing money on the deal. I picked up the rig for $3000 six years ago. lol

The check will be going into my play account and it will not be buying GME. lol

Once it's all finalized I'll have to figure out what to do with my rig. Part it out or sell it to someone who wants to fix the coil bucket. Either way there will be some more money coming in from that decision. That will also not be going into GME. lol

I've got my one share already. If it turns into 7 great. GME will make you rich. BBIG will make me enough. If that enough ends up being $500K fine. If it ends up being $2M I'm OK with that as well. lol

I couldn't get an exact number from liability. About a month before the policy renews it goes to an actuary. They then decide what that increase will be based on math and stuff. I did get her to ballpark me. She said expect at least $100 increase. In CA that stays on file for 6 years. It could be more hence why I'm most likely gonna take the lower buyout.

Yep. My driving record is great and I have never had an at-fault insurance claim. I didn't pay much at all to carry full coverage on it compared to just liability.

The answer is "how much is the rate increase and what are you gonna do with the $1200"?

If your rate bumps $100/year and you invest that $1200 for 10 years at 10% then fuck the rate increase. But since you're gonna gamble that shit away on options plays, probably take the lower amount without the rate increase.

Which reminds me, now that we paid off the 4runner, I gotta call our insurer and have 'em drop that policy down to comprehensive.
