Ok i am in need of serious help! when i press my break pedal my dash lights come on, and sometimes when i turn on my turn signals the dash lights flash in sequence with the turn signals. Also my front parking lights come on when i press the break pedal. at one point my break lights would stay on when i turned on my parking lights or my headlights. My truck is not even two years old and i already have electrical problems. anyone know what i can do, other than taking it to a mechanic?

are you still under warranty? have you done any mods for lights, etc that required tampering with any electrical?

It sounds to me like you are "backfeeding" the electrical system. This most often happens when you get a bad buld that allows the current to jump to teh wrong location in the bulb. I've also seen this happen when you use the wrong bulb in the wrong location.

Pull each buld starting with the brake lights in sequence and see which one makes the problem go away.

Then replace that sucker and you should be OK.

Otherwise there is a short somewhere.

Dude i know exactly what it is... Who the he'll installed your wiring for your trailer lights? They don't understand that the tacomas have a red brake wire that can't just be spliced in with other wires. I know this because I did it like an idiot, but I learned...

It's your trailer light harness... Check it

same thing happened to me except when i hit my brakes my turn signals would stay on, check and see if your trailer light hookup is still good. thats what mine was, i had to replace it. the stuff got corroded and crossed the wires. sometimes its where it plugs in and sometimes you have to follow the wires to the box and sometimes you have to follow the wires to the tail lights to see where the problem is.

I think I'm going to put a flasher on my horn and wire it to my reverse lights.
