I picked up a few things from Northern tool this morn.
4" grinder with grinding disks and cutoff disks.
    A coupla wire brushes.
    A soapstone pen.
    Leather gloves.
    A copy of "juggz" magazine.
Some various sized magnetic angle thingies that hold metal together.
Some of that hobart spray for the tip.
The only thing I think I need is a good welding helmet and a cart. They had one I really wanted but didnt have it in stock.

Can anyone think of anything else I need just to get started?
I didn't know if I mentioned this but I have never welded steel. I aluminum welded a few awnings several years back but that was it.

I have a thick leather apron. Keeps the sparks from burning my pants/shirt.

Maybe a big roll of wire, you're going to burn through that pathetic one the welder comes with pretty fast, if it even comes with one.

lol. No. I unboxed it and stared at it for 20 mins and said to myself "Shit, I don't even know how to weld" and I just spent all I had saved for my samurai YJ spring swap.

I'm still stoked as hell. Just this 3rd shift dealie do and i'm windin down for the day, I just didn't want to get into it.
The cd rom they provided is pretty cool. I catch on quick and used to weld aluminum. I have alot to learn but I have a shit ton of time on my hands.

I did go ahead and buy a bottle of 75/25 while I was there so hopefully I will get a chance to mess with it tommorow. Friday my buds comin to hook up my 220 even though I can use it at 110 if I want.

And Brian will be down here for his locker install on saturday, so maybe then.
It's a big purchase for me and quite the investment. 15 yrs livin out of apts, never being able to buy shit like this cause I never really had a place to do stuff.
Blessed with my new house and the garage and the ability to express my creative side now. I'm just a bit overwhelmed.

Look into "premier" welders. Although I believe all they offer is stick.
There mihgt be a few companies that offer migs that run off of 4000w sinewave.
