Finally got around to doing two things after dithering for months:

Registering on here, and trading in my silver '04 base access cab 5-speed manual 4x2 SR 5 for the exact same thing:

A silver 2011 base access cab 5-speed manual 4x2 SR 5. Not what you'd call a major upgrade, but it's all I need and want. Had to get it ordered because 2wd access cabs are apparently not built for this zone (NW Indiana and surrounding area) and the dealer could not find any already built.

A couple friends said I should buy American, and I replied with this:
--My uncle is a retired chief engineer from a Ford transmission plant. His
words: "The Japanese taught us how to build a car."

--My older brother came of age in the muscle car era, and was a die hard
Chevy truck man up until a few years ago when he saw how reliable my
Toyotas were. He switched to Tacomas, and when I asked why did you
give up on Chevy he said, "I got tired of working on them."

--Lastly, my Dad was a Navy antiaircraft gunner in the Pacific during
WW2. He fired many a 40mm round at Mitsubishi products. And what
was in his garage when he died? A Camry...

    Cool!

If I was to get a new truck, I would order one. The only true way to get exactly what you want.

    Welcome to TW.
