My pager couldn't record shit - and I tossed it out the window one night when my mom wouldn't stop blowing it up!

Still blows my mind that people video themselves committing criminal acts - dumb AF -



Now on to the neighbor story, nice and long:

I live at the end of a cul/da/sac - a childless road where we are all quiet and civil to one another, even have a beer now and again.
We are also 30+ min from LEO arriving and in a very rural part of the county - I carry a metal police baton when I walk the dog, just b/c you can't be too careful..

On the corner we get these new people with a ~3rd grade boy who has serious emotional issues [i came to learn].
Mom works 24/7 and dad aka Asshat is the alleged 'parent'.

I have power/slid my car around the corner for 10 years, BUT I only do it when the garage is closed/no one is out side - I am not a complete dick..

Asshat didn't like this, one day I come back and his buddy, in a big truck, is parked smack in the middle of the road.
I make eye contact with the driver and I see the boy in the garage [a city block away] - not wanting to startle anyone, I do not hit the horn b/c the driver clearly sees me. The boy starts out of the garage and I am like 'hell no, he is not coming anywhere near my car' so I put 2 tires on the grass and go around/home.
It is a public road, you aren't stopping me from driving home + I had to pee, really bad..


About an hour later - Asshat shows up - beating down my front door; I open it [with a bat in my hand, behind the door] - cause I am pretty sure he is all bluster.. but I was home alone/it was a bit much even for me..

He asks if that is my silver BWM, we have two and I almost said, "which one" but shut my fucking mouth b/c I knew how this was gonna go - he screamed/spitting the whole time and threw a temper tantrum on my front lawn for like 10 minutes... blahblahblah you drive blah my kid blahblha
He went to leave and I told him that if he comes back on my property, he is going to jail for trespassing.
He went back and called the law who showed up another hour later or so - and the sheriff came at me for my alleged driving, till I told him what Asshat did and that Asshat did not want to actually parent the boy/eg watch him like he needed to and that was what this was about.. the street is NOT a playground, period - the kid has a yard... and needs supervision.
The Sheriff totally changed tune and went and warned the dude to let me be.

A month or so later - they/he starts letting the boy rip/run up/down my street on his ATV, like all day and besides the noise, it gave me a damn heart attack thinking about driving around this kid - who is super erratic, no discipline etc. pulled out in front of multiple vehicles including two state troopers over the years - so I called the sheriff - and I did so like 10x more times b/c Asshat can't be reasoned with..
His wife tried to come scream at me for this and he stopped her; probably b/c she didn't know about the prior run/in we had..

So then one day I am out walking my dog and Asshat gets on his ATV and lunges it at me 2x - rev's it like he is gonna hit me, makes it lurch forward - he was on his property [his defense], I was on the street.. I just wound up screaming back at him about how this is all bullshit + he is selfish - I could have pressed charges for attempt assault with a deadly [someone else did this in here and got arrested at the annual halloween party]... maybe that would have expedited their exit, nothing beats handcuffs in front of everyone...
Finally, one day, me + Asshat + Sheriff supervisor all had a chat about how our 'hood' is NOT an ATV park and this shit cannot continue, there are places for that conduct..

It mostly stops.

But the kid still burns plastic and other screaming/slamming violent things - none good - I swore they were gonna burn the house down..
I swore I heard him kill his wife or the dog one night when I was out walking mine - screaming, slamming shit from ½ mile away, then the boy going 'DAD" at the top of his lungs, then dead silence... so I waited a few minutes, then kept walking, then I get hit with a flashlight from their front porch, creep AF..


A few years after they move in, we get a girl across the street a few yr older than him -best kid ever- and Asshat's kid literally harasses her to play with him, which is super disturbing to watch; she tells him no/go away like 20x and the boy won't fucking leave..
He is made aware/does nothing.
She, on her own, even went to his mother and asked her to keep him away from her for a month, which did happen.
This kid came at her with a pitch fork and she beat his ass + left a lump on his head, never been so proud of her and told her that - but it didn't deter him.. on two separate days, when she was home alone, I went over to make sure he left her alone -
He slapped her ass, she witnessed Asshat watching porn on the TV while kids where in the house, the boy got an iPhone.. it just never ended..

In the meantime their shit show starts burning bridges with every other kid/family in here [maybe 50 houses total, 5 with kids - way/out in no-where] - one by one, no one is allowed to play with the boy b/c he is freaking dangerous - eg he jumps in one neighbor's pool without permission/no adults out - after being told not to do this.
Again, Asshat just says boys will be boys or such.. and acts like the rest of us are the problem.

The girl was still allowed to play with him and her parents/rest of us are well aware/watching closely, they were new to the hood, didn't wanna start a scene + she can defend herself + there are rumors they would be moving out.
After the pool incident, the pool owner/Asshat got into a big argument and I think that was the last straw - they realized they were no longer welcome here and had the means to move..

About 6 months later, they are freaking gone!!
Never been so happy.. it is back to quiet and peaceful in here after about 3 years of total bullshit from them.

Neighbors and make/break a living situation and if he had come and had a conversation with me the first time, vs/ blowing a load on my front lawn and being a dick - maybe it didn't have to be like that - but he did and I knew I couldn't reason with that = reverted to the Sheriff to make the point that I wouldn't be bullied b/c I didn't do anything wrong.

It took a while and Asshat tried to make people like him by sucking up [he was so passive around the more alpha/guys in here, it was funny to watch], but in the end the truth prevailed - he is a bad parent, that kid is gonna hurt someone/something, I am grateful they don't live here anymore.

That last part is the scary thing..what's still to come. Trust me if I ever find anyone uninvited in my pool....

 

I did my spring weed/seed last weekend. The neighbors looked at me like "oh hey. You're still alive." We had a conversation about my dethatcher. That was literally the most exciting thing that happened this year.

 

Just mentioned this is another thread today, but my uncle has land outside of town that the family uses for various fun things like riding horses, dirt bikes, going shooting, taking the boat down the creek, mowing, etc.


The rich neighbor’s dumb brother decided to go on the back end of the gun range last year and start digging and grading with heavy equipment.

When my uncle ran out to ask him what I’m the world he was doing digging on his land the guy said, “well this is where I’m going to build my house when my brother buys this land from you.”

My uncle has never posted his land for sale and doesn’t intend to. To this day they still go on his land, which they can see and know full well is the receiving end of a shooting range, with their 4wheelers and whatnot, after being told not to countless times.

When that boy hits puberty (very soon) - shit will escalate 100% -

I was terrified he was gonna hurt the girl especially when he hit that point - and it is just a matter of time before he responds to his father's violence, with violence - I really don't wanna see that go down or be caught in the crossfire by accident..

 

Ideally never but if it has to be a violent incident at least one can hope it's in the family..

 

A visit from the Sheriff, delivering a trespass warning, can do wonders in getting someone's head out their own selfish ass..

I grew up in rural Oklahoma - you don't fuck around on other people's property.. lest you wanna get shot.

 

I think they legitimately think they have a right to the land they think they’re going to buy just because they have money haha.

I’ll have to ask my uncle if he ever called the sheriff or not. Never heard. I told him I could weld his gate shut at least so they couldn’t get the 4wheelers in ha. We shall see!

 

They have money so they think they can do WTF ever they want, sounds about right.. selfish ass MF
Maybe they should make your Uncle an offer then - if they are so sure - and he can shoot it down, get it over with

I would make sure the Sheriff is aware, just in case you have real problems with them later on - so you have some paper trail of their prior transgressions..

 

I'd say invest in a couple game cameras.

Catch them in the act and show them the proof when they deny being on the property.

 

As I continue to work my way thru this thread, I watched this - my jaw about hit the floor..

I LIVED in that duplex when I was at GaTech - back in the late 1990's - super stabby back then, 100%
+ I took that nice space up by the house, where the Saturn was parked, under the flood light, sometimes the crackheads would cut thru our parking lot but they had enough sense not to fuck with us, lest the law show up..

There was the crack shack liquor store [our name for it] right around the corner, by the RR tracks, where all the crackheads went after getting off work at the shipping yard @ 1500; all the liquor was behind bulletproof glass, only the Brass Monkey was not locked up - for real - crack dealers in the parking lot, it was quite a site to be seen..

I also 'attended' the last two FreakNicks that ever would be during these times - when ATL shut the F**K down for 3 days, and the whole downtown turned into a raucous party, people fighting and fucking [literally] in the streets, I75/85 got shut down for real..

Last Monday - my neighbor left her two dobermans out..
The female barks at bullshit/all day/every day [and she knows this] - unless her husband is home - he is the only one that doesn't put up with that shit/actually disciplines the dogs..
IDK why she thought this was a good idea but that dog barked for 8 HOURS straight.. only taking breaks to drink some water.



I have another neighbor who lets her dog run loose at like 500 b/c she thinks no one will notice - I woke up to find a nice pile in my yard, not out by the street, but all up in my yard... thanks to this thread + its ideas, I 'returned' the poop to her yard, but I am pretty sure she will continue to do this till I catch her in the act and loose my shit yelling at her..

Based on her past behavior of letting a prior dog run loose [despite having a nice tall fence], it attacking 3 dogs + killing the last one = so her dog got put down - she clearly learned NOTHING - one of the dogs that got attacked was mine, Chief beat her dogs ass right quick, didn't get bit and a visit from Animal Control did jack/shit, till her dog killed another neighbor's dog [which was also out loose]

Living in the country does not mean you can just let your dog do WTF ever.. I hate irresponsible pet owners.

Makes me sad that she can't/won't learn and that I am gonna have to go out there at 500 and scream bloody murder to get any corrective action..
It is also absurd that a calm/rational conversation doesn't yield any results, just lip service..

Well, me screaming at her at 455 to get her fucking dog happened sooner than I expected; eg this morning..

She took her sweet ass time getting it and didn't bother to even say I'm sorry.

I've had it with her inability to learn from past mistakes/not be a complete dick and called animal control, told them the whole history and they made it very clear they would take care of it.

Our animal control dept is part of the sheriff's department now (used to be impotent), so I have some faith they will scare her straight, this time.

She at least saw the notification and had every opportunity to come yell at me on my afternoon dog walk and didn't - I am still expecting some blowback though..

 

Grrrr..Here's hoping. With complete assholes like that sometimes the only thing you can do is keep calling and reporting them. Eventually something will have to be done, even if because they get sick of hearing about it.

 

UPDATE:
So I ran into this woman the other day while scooping poop. . .

She just started going on about how she came back from the beach to go to work and then work didn't need her.
No yelling at me re: animal control, nothing about me loosing my shit at 455 & her dog has also not been loose since.
I just shut up and let her prattle on - best to not engage her.

I am guessing that whatever animal control threatened to do, finally hit home with her [do it again, we take your dog, most likely] and she realized she was out of runway on this one.
She also has a "new man" at the beach, so that is helping to keep her focus elsewhere.
She is gone more and more to visit him so her dog just stays in the yard under the care of her adult daughter.

Her daughter has a big black pit bull, that is NEVER out - never ever - at least someone there has some sense..

 

Sometimes things work themselves out...fortunately that sounds like it here
