I guess we should start coordinating when I road trip to the boat to do some mountain biking and take those fake beadlocks back to the front range for these hyena's.

 

There's not a lot of them left, but hopefully they stay put.

Need to pull the tires off, and it'll probably be a month or so before there's any biking up here.

Less visible gap between the tires and the body makes it look like the tires are filling out the fender wells properly. Unlike mine where 35's look like 33's because of how much I cut out of the body.

also that's not true totally...you're just used to it and have "small tire syndrome" and need 37s to cure it. then 40s....then 42s...

 

Meh I am sick of dat tire poke getting EVERYTHINGGGG muddy on a trip. But you ain't wrong on small tire syndrome. @Squeaky Penguin has shown me with the solo arms I think it's easier to stuff 37's on mid travel (but then you have weak CV's), while @cbechtold has shown me going LT and 37's is going to be it's own rabbit hole.

Either way I like the flares and want them back in some form again.

Dumb question for you @Squeaky Penguin, in the other thread y'all mention chopping the factory lugs for the 3/4" spacers, what the fuck does that mean?

 

The factory studs stick out past the end of the spacers. Some wheels have a recess where that doesn't create a problem, but the KMCs are completely flat on the mounting surface. Therefore I had to shorten the stock studs slightly so they didn't protrude.

 

Ahhh the factory studs. That makes much more sense than "lugs" where I originally read it from another member.

 

The amount of work to make 37s work would be stupid. Unless you're willing to gimp uptravel

 

Both options with 37s aren't great cause you'll end up cutting huge holes in the front with the solo arms.

Lt means cutting....well everything cause if all the wheel travel haha but it is possible. Few on here with it.

Front diff is still too weak to run 37s well imo.

 

I’d disagree. Once the spiders are caged the front diff is actually pretty strong. I haven’t heard of many fail minus yours, and that was an issue where something came loose right?

Realistically the two weak spots are the tube (I am planning on attempting to strengthen that up) and the cv’s. With the LT cv’s the strength is there so as long as you don’t wheel like an idiot it’s realistic. The question is will the fin be gone? My buddy went to 37’s on ifs on his last truck. Stuff that was still fun on 35’s became boring on 37’s, and stuff he wasn’t capable of on 35’s he still wouldn’t be able to get without giving it a fight, which then puts you at risk of breaking shit.
