Yeah thought the same thing if they miss this what else do they miss.

 

I’m not from Texas but have been told the plant there is no different from the one in Mexico as far as the workers go. Only time will tell but I’m confident with my 2022 being well built.

Welcome to the club! How do you like the steps?

 

They have good build quality and good traction. I've seen some folks on this forum suggest taking them off - I'm not sure why but guessed it was to maximize off-road capability? At this point I plan on leaving them on for the family. I think they're a lot more useful when there is a grab handle on the inside to use in conjunction with the step. The passenger doors have grab handles but the driver's seat doesn't have one. I'd use the step every single time on the passenger side but don't think I can say that for the driver's side. It'll take some more time and experimenting before I settle on either using the step or doing a lil' hop and flop to get in.

 

Use the step on the driver's side otherwise you'll wear out the side bolster pretty quick.

 

The trouble is in trusting passengers to use those steps. I was thinking about getting some door sill protectors for that very reason (Toyota Part #

$45 PT7473520102 Genuine Toyota Parts - Door Sill Dcab Taco (PT747-35201-02), Black

PT7473520102).

When you use the step do you use the steering wheel to brace yourself as you get into the seat, or are you able to go directly from step->seat and my balance just sucks?

 

My Tacoma came with the door sill protectors. I also have the oem Toyota running boards, the plastic covered ones and they are more in the way than useful for an adult to get in and out of the truck. I mainly got them for the kids and to keep rock chips to a minimum.

I just step out onto the ground and keep my ass mostly off the seat bolster. I’m 5’10” FYI.

 

My EL didn't come with door sill protectors. But I made sure to get them. Worked very well on my 2010 SR5. My wife mentioned steps... so I will probably end up getting steps or rock sliders. Steps are cheaper though...

Yes.

 

Toyota is weird between Canada and the USA. We get mud flaps standard as well. But no way will they give us LED headlights below a limited or nightshade

Charleston here again...I am exhausted waiting for my EL TRD Pro. Allegedly it is on the transport, I do not understand why the keep saying any day... it is already a week past due...We can track packages but can't track a fn truck in route...Losing my mind. Anyone else have the same experience of not pinpointing the actual delivery day?

 

When I was waiting for my EL Pro, I had not real idea how to track it besides talking to my sales guy. He would just check and see when it was going to be delivered and showed me the date range. It changed once and I didn't know when exactly it was going to show up. It showed up though.

I hear you. My wife was going crazy when I was waiting and I heard it was planned on getting made. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am enjoying it. Worth the wait in my opinion.

 

Put on .75” Bora spacers today to compensate for putting 285’s on, and the UCA is in the clear. Of course no good deed goes unpunished and I have a slight rub in the front fender wells at full lock…..on the drivers side the rub is on the forward part of the well, the passenger side rub is in the rear part of the well. Heat gun and a little trimming fixed it.
Because I’m OCD, I thought the wheel poke from these spacers looked a little less on the drivers side than the passenger side. I measured it and it’s about 1/8th of an inch difference. No one else will notice, but they apparently didn’t quite center the rear axle at the factory. Just glad it doesn’t affect anything.
Also measured the distance from wheel to the cab mount and it is clearing by at least 2” on both sides.
I think everyone of these trucks is a little different, so maybe others won’t even have a rub when running 33” tires.

 

Nice. The wind was crazy today in town. Not surprised to see the pass is socked in. How did the truck handle?
