Cheater bike at Ride Kanuga today. First time riding a bike park and first time on an ebike. Any day on a bike is a good day and I’ll admit that they both have their place, but I will say neither are for me. Actually switched over to my Following after lunch.

Yes it is. You'll love Skyline and Rockville when you're up there. Also, you're not that far away from Annadel (Santa Rosa) and Oat Hill Mine (Calistoga).

Mileage run in Santa Cruz. PSA for those that ride UCSC, the Ranger was at Rincon. Luckily I popped out a bit uphill from Rincon.

Oat hill mine trail is like rock climbing with a bike. Super interesting. Don’t forget to stop at the trail house for a beer and food and MTB bike museum.

    You guys are killing me.

My trails are still packed with snow. Barring any more snowfall it will still be at least two weeks before anything is rideable. Even the gravel around here is 50/50 if it's rideable or just mud/snow.

Still been getting out on the road though even though any paved road around here sucks for riding. I've done three 100km rides in the past week. Still pretty cold but it feels good to be off the trainer. Yesterday I wore the wrong gloves. Had to get my wife to open the front door, unbuckle my helmet, and take my shoes off when I got because my hands were completely numb. Forecast was supposed to be +6c but it stayed just at freezing the whole ride.

Solo morning ride followed by a skatepark session with a car/Tacoma friend. Can't name a better weekend.

Yeah bro! The whole West is dry. It's going to be an early fire season if we don't get rain soon.

Did my first mountain bike race on Saturday. I was not prepared.

Signed up for Cat 3, easiest cat, for my age group, 30-39 (turning 30 this Friday). Really thought I was gonna be faster just because I'm at the younger range of this age group. Nope.

I got 10th on a 9 mile single lap. 9th beat me by a minute and a half. 1st by like 5 minutes. There were 17 people in this age group/category, so I didn't even get top 50%.

Course was very XC. Probably could have been ridden on a gravel bike. There may have been 100 rocks on the whole course. Mostly packed dirt/gravel.

Honestly IDK if I want to do another XC race. Maybe I'll give an enduro a shot. Or I should get in better shape. Who can really say?

Anyway, 30 laps on the chutes this Friday.

    Nothing crazy!
Thank you! It was the last year Cannondale made bikes using all of their own parts. It’s an aluminum bike, but it’s so light that you can pick it up with one finger. Everyone was buying the F5000SL. I love the white and gold rims. It reminds me a lot of the Paris Dakar Tenere.

I have a soft spot for the old cannondales, especially headshok and leftys. Those guys weren't afraid to be different and innovate
